could i have been pregnant?

This was a very strange cycle for me, never have i been late. I am always regular 27-31 days. I started spotting on day 27th for a few days with bad cramps, severe back ache. I thought af was comming any minute. On day 33 i got my period,( so sad because i thought i was pregnant) bleeding a full 2 days and the third, fourth, and fifth day, i don't even need a pad. I usually bleed for 4 days and then it slowly goes away. I did test and one time it looked like a line, very hard to tell on the pregnanct test. I took a few and bfn.

The strange part is the severe cramping, backache when i was spotting. I have pain now day 5 like the normal af cramps. Could i have been pregnant and lost it?

Thanks

Hi,

I really think if you were PG AF would have been heavier than usual.

I called my ob/gyn and she said it could be possible. I did bleed heavy for 2 days. I will see how next month goes.

Thanks

hi there,

i guess the thing to remember is that chemical pregnanies happen to women all the time, they usually just don't know it.

Thanks

I was in a terrible pain this month. My cramps and back were killing me. If it's like this next month, i will go back and see my ob/gyn.

Hi. ITA with Jeri-lynn. Probably just a funny period, and not a m/c.

It's really common for our cycles to start doing some funny things in the late 30s and 40s. Shorter, longer, heavier, lighter--it's all within the realm of perimenopause. Doesn't mean you're going to be in menopause tomorrow, or even in a decade. But the process can take up to 15 years, and the small changes have to begin sometime. Your next period will probably be totally normal, and of course, you can still get pregnant while all this is happening.

Best to check with your doctor if you're concerned.

I suppose its possible you could have been pregnant. I think its called a chemical pregnancy. I'm not an expert though.

I do remember taking vitex extract. I usually take just vitex. I guess that could be it. I will not take that anymore, i was in severe pain.

Thanks

AprilCindy,

Do you chart? If so, did you have higher than normal tempatures for 18 days in a row before you got your period? If you had 18 or 19 days or more with high tempatures prior to your AF, then, more than likely, you were pg. If, however, you only had high temps for 16 or 17 days prior to AF, then you were probably not pg.

Best of luck for next cycle.
