My Ovulation Chart <img
Annemarie 42 Trying to conceive naturally.
Ouch! I think your doctor should check your FSH a couple of other times before she makes a blanket statement like that. Just sayin' (j/s). FSH changes every month. If you still ovulate, you still have a chance I say. If you are still releasing eggs you still could have a chance. I am sorry she gave you that news. If it were me I would find an OB/GYN who specializes in women conceiving over 40 hopefully with an open mind. Maybe that takes getting an RE I don't know. Hugs to you AnneMarie.
I really don't know what to do.
Somewhere on the board last month, someone posted a chart of women with high FSH and it showed pregnancy chances, maybe it was in November Rollcall not sure. Anyway, I purchased a 3 month membership to FF and it gives you the ability to search charts. I entered the following parameters: High FSH and over 40, it turned up at least 12 sustained pregnancies. I stopped counting after that... there were several more pages mixed with miscarriages, ovulatory and anovulatory (mostly ovulatory though). Anyway... I personally wouldn't give up but you may need to see a specialist at least for more tests and meds.
Annmarie, I'm sorry you got news of a high number. I agree with Michele, that maybe a repeat test would show different results. Please don't give up because of one test. I wish your doctor was more compassionate sounding to you. I think I would consult a specialist to discuss their protocol.
Oh, I just did a quick search on FF as well. I found 56 charts with High FSH over 40 that conceived-Hang in there girl!!
Thank you so much ladies!
