failing to implant?

Hello,
I am Anna and I have two DS, aged 10 and 8. We have been trying for number
3 for two years now. Anyway, this month I had an exceptionally heavy AF which,
without going into too many details, seemed to me to be a very early miscarraige.

This has happened me before, and now I am wondering if anyone knows of any
supplements to take to ensure a good uterine lining. Now of course that might not
be the problem at all, but I'm trying to cover all bases.

Unfortunately I have moved around in the last couple of years and haven't found
a good gyn who is helpful to me in trying to achieve a pregnancy at this age (I am 41). So I am sort of going it alone right now.

Oh, today I start the South Beach diet. I do have about 10 pounds I need to lose, but
more importantly, it seems this diet has been helpful to some women in getting pregnant.

Hey, after two years I will try anything!

Thanks in advance for any input,
Anna.

Hi Anna,

I'm sorry about your possible miscarriage. Those suck, don't they, although I'll take one of those any day versus the ones that happen when you're further along.

My OB has me taking baby aspirin around CD6... I'm not sure if that helps in sustaining a pregnancy for everyone, but it was recommended for me. (FYI: It hasn't worked for me yet though!).

I do know that aspirin is NOT recommended for pregnant women in general though, so I wouldn't want you to take it until you've checked with your own doctor (OB or otherwise). And if they do say it's ok, remember that it has to be the baby aspirin (81 mg), not the full strength dose for adults.

Good luck!

Lois,
Thank you for your reply and comment about the baby aspirin.
Did your OB suggest taking it from CD6 onwards? Any reason not to
take it all month around, do you know?

Good luck to you, Anna.

Lois,

Do you know if it is good to take baby asprin once you are actually pregnant?

Thanks!

Mari,

Your DH is so handsome! Wow--you are quite the good looking couple! I can see why Emily is such a doll! :-)

My OB said that I would be on baby aspirin throughout my first trimester and then it's not effective after that, so I would be off of that. My RE had said that if I got pregnant again, they would most likely also be injecting me with Lovenox or Heparin every day. (Just in case of blood thinning issues.)

But Mari, since you are already pregnant (yay!), I wouldn't want you taking anything--even baby aspirin--without checking with your OB first. I had fertility issues and problems getting pregnant and staying pregnant. You may be fine and not need anything. I think you have more blood work being drawn today? Ask the nurse and your OB just to make sure!

Sorry I'm not more helpful!

Lois
