Hi everyone,

I just completed my 3rd IVF and this time I had 2 follies that both matured but only one fertilized. I was estatic to say the least when it was transferred back into me.

Ann I'm sorry that doctor was such and insensitive pig:-( I hope that this is THE one and you won't need advice for going forward. However, if it isn't the one I want to point you in the direction of DHEA supplementation. It is the only thing I have read of that has recorded results in increasing egg count and quality even in women over 45.

Much luck to you!

ann, i too am very sorry about your experience at the dr's office. that was so very insensitive!!! and you should tell your dr. when you see him/her...

i am going to ditto what Brenda said about the DHEA. I recently turned 44, like weeks ago. When I was 42 we decided to have one more baby. All the dr's told me that the odds were very against us. we tried for over a year and i read about the DHEA. I figured why not, so i tried it. after two cycles, i got my bfp. i felt so much better when taking the DHEA. I had tons more energy!! so i'm going to jump on that band wagon along with Brenda. I have read so much positive DHEA information.

G/L!! I hope this transfer works and you don't actually need it!!!

HUGS

Hi Ann,

I was also wondering what made you choose IVF? When I began TTC 3 years ago I also started with IVF but I had a TL, which after 2 failed IVF's I had reversed in order to give me more chances. I agree with the other women that you should look into taking DHEA. I've been lurking on several over 40 TTC boards and most (if not all) of the successful pregnancies seem to happen naturally and with combination DHEA. The studies out of NY are pretty impressive. They had the women take between 50-75 mg/day for 4 months prior to IVF. Some of these women had spontaneous pregnancies while waiting to cycle.
I pray you will have success with this cycle but if it doesn't work it's not because you did something wrong. When I went through IVF I would drive myself crazy wondering if I had done something wrong to prevent the eggs from implanting. I finally had to accept I'm not in control of TTC. We can only do what we can do (such as taking vitamins, DHEA, abstaining from alcohol and caffeine). I believe God is in control and he has a plan for each of us in this journey.

Leslie
