Giving it a go

Hello every one. My name is Amy, I am 39. I will be 40 next month so close enough to being able to post here right? . My husband Stephen and have recently decided to try for a baby. We have 4 children ages 12(G) 14(B) 16 (B) and 22 (Man) lol.
I know this seems nuts, and a lot of people will think we have lost it if even we get pregnant, but we have been thinking about trtying for the past few years and my husband was recently diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. They have given him an excellent prognosis BUT after treatment he will be sterlile, and I am not getting any younger.
We always wanted a big family, and LOVE being parents.
He is quite a bit older than me, so his fertility is questionable as well.
He has been advised to start treatment within the next 6 months (radioactive seeds only, no chemo) so i guess you could say we have 6 months to conceive.
I have never had any problem getting pregnant(2-3 cycles) but my last pregnancy was 13 years ago and I know it can be much more difficult now.
Looking forward to joining you all.
I have to learn what all the abbreviations mean that you all use.
My period is due any day now, so I am geared up and ready to roll.My cycles have been every 27-30 days.
Wish us luck!
Amy

Hi Amy and welcome here! I too hope your stay is a short one! :-) So sorry about the cancer, but I am very glad they feel it is so treatable. Just don't put off the treatment too long. And of course you are welcome to post here even though you aren't "technically" 40 yet, that doesn't really matter!
