Christy,

How kind of you to post to me. Thank you. I actually had ER this morning. They retrieved 16 eggs and I will find out tomorrow how many are mature. I have no problem producing quantity, just quality. I am praying to the Good Lord for a blessing or two with this IVF as it is our last one. I am tapped out financially and emotionally.

I do feel better about this IVF than the last. For this one, I have been eating mostly organic food for the last 6-12 months, taking DHEA, Wheat grass tabs, Omega Fish Oil and Co-Q-10. Cut out caffeine and soda--- just drinking herbal raspberry tea and good old H2O..................

Hi Sarah:
Wow, I hope those are good eggies! It is funny that you mentioned accupuncture, because I went for my first accupunture treatment this week. It was for my feet though, not fertility.
I don't mind sharing our story. My husband and I married last October, and he had a vasectomy reversal in February. I am 40 and he is 43. He has two beautiful daughters (10 & 12) from his first marriage. I was married before as well, but no children. Strangely enough, my first husbard had a VR as well - but he had major sperm antibodies. I guess God knows what he is doing that we didn't get pregnant because we are now divorced and he is remarried to a three time convicted drug addict. I wouldn't have let my child go to a situation like that!
As for my DH's reversal doesn't seem to be going that well. We are doing all of the steriods, etc., to try to get his count up. It isn't looking good. It seems that our only choice would be ICSI, which we have no insurance for. At times I think about donor sperm or adoption, and at other times I think I will be okay letting the dream go. It is a difficult decision, and I will be 41 in October, so it isn't something that I have a lot of time to decide.
I actually prayed for you this morning as I was getting ready for work. Please keep me posted!

Hi Emily!

Thank you for the kind words ! It's greatly appreciated ! I've seen your anme a few times and think I've responded to some of your posts. Hope you are having a GREAT day !

I posted to Christy a LONG message and have to get to studying but wanted to let you know that we had 14 mature eggs and 13 fertilized. I am cautiously optomistic as last time only 4 out of 10 made it to 8 cells and none made it to blastocyst.

Thank you for the prayers ! It is greatly appreciated. It's good to see some posts on this board....it's very slow around here. That's why I spend most of my time at IVF and friends Board.

I miss Tamera as the cl...she did a GREAT job !

Are you TTC again ---I saw that you have a little one....if you are, best of luck !

Wishing you much luck w/ IUI #2. I had my egg transfer on Sunday morning and the transfered 6 embryos back in. It is an unusually high amount but last time I did 4 and it didn't work. In addition, my embryos do not seem to grow to the 5 day stage where they have enough cells to be frozen. So, I wanted them to be given as much of a chance of life as they could.

I am glad that you and your partner have worked things out and hope that things go well for you. My FSH was 10.7 and they still managed to get a lot of eggs out of me....they looked great as far as cell growth and not a lot of fragmentation so let's hope they stick !

Hi Sara:
I am so excited for you and find myself praying for you several times a day! It sounded like your eggies were much more responsive this time. Do you have to wait the typical two weeks or do they do a beta test before then for you?

As for me and my hubby, we will be doing our SA on Friday. I am not overly optomistic, in fact I am preparing myself for the 'none seen'. I am fairly certain things are okay on my side of the house. I haven't done a clomid challenge, but in April, I had blood work done on cd3 and my FSH was 5.8, which I think is pretty good for a 40 year old (soon to be 41). We have started to slightly discuss a donor, but I am just not sure. I am also not sure how to become sure one way or another. I think adoption is such a long and tedious process, and I would really love the experience of carrying a child. My husbands brother is adopted, so I know his family would be very accepting. Then, there are moments that I think that maybe it just isn't meant to be for me. I am sure that these are all thoughts that you have had before!

Please keep me posted, and let me know when I should be expecting to hear your good news of a BFP!

Hi Christy,

When it looked like I wasn't going to get pg, I started working immediately on my adoption plans, which I was very excited about.

Hi Christy,

I cannot tell you how it warms my heart that you pray for me several times a day. Thank you so much !

I too will be praying for your SA results on Friday.

FSH of 5.8 is great for a 40 year old so I'm hoping that you get good news to go forward. If not, you mentioned DH has a brother, have you considered asking him to be the donor. I would have asked my sisters but they are older than me. Unfortuneately all my friends that offered were too old also but age is not the case with sperm usually.

I agree with you on the adoption thing. I am not against it and I know some friends with very + stories and then some with horror stories. I do know that i am not there yet and may never be. I have had to accept that I am not a bad person if I chose not to adopt as I felt guilty
