Has anyone over 45 had a healthry baby t

I've moved from the "Pregnant over 40" board to the TTC board. Talk about a biological clock on overtime. I am 46 and I've been PG twice in the last year and miscarried both. One at ten weeks and one at eight weeks.
So I want to know if anyone has conceived the old fashioned way and had a healthy baby over the age of 45. I know John Travolta's wife Kelly Preston is 47 and six months pregnant and the rumor is that they had help, not that it matters whatsoever how it happened. It only matters to me because I don't want to carry on a foolish campaign and have another MC because I can't accept that my eggs are too old to do the job.
Please chime in, anyone with answers. I am thinking of trying one more time but the emotional toll is huge.

Noble, I am so sorry for your losses.
I'm not 45 but only a year off. I will turn 44 in 3 weeks and am 25+ weeks pregnant. All u/s so far show a healthy boy with no soft markers and I have had zero health issues so far with the pregnancy (knocking on wood as I write this.) I do think part of it is genetics (my mom has me when she was 40). And part of it is a blessing/luck. Sorry to hear about your MC noble777. The first trimester wait was a r-e-a-l-l-y long one for me. Perhaps third time is a charm?

I am not 45 but 44 and I know it's still early in my pregnancy but I got pregnant (one try just like my other kids) and am approaching 8 weeks now.
I know numerous women who have had healthy babies beyond 45 (one at 50) all natural conceptions , healthy kids etc;
Spoke to my long lost friend the other day- she has 5 (youngest is 2) is 46 and trying for another one now. She got pregnant easily will all of them except she says she can tell her body is changing slightly now. So she's put her faith in god (she is a born again) and will see what happens.
My friends wife will be 45 in a couple of weeks and is 3 months pregnant.

Getting pregnant at 46 naturally may be rare but getting pregnany with IVF is like winning the lottery from what I have been told. Congratulations - what a triumph! I am very curious about the clinic you went to if you don't mind sharing.
Getting pregnant at 46 may not be as rare- Bedouin women do it all the time and in older days it wasn't so unusual.
Maybe the public has been scared into not even trying- am not dismissing declining fertility but maybe it's worth checking out the high fertility/low miscarriage rates amongst Bedouin women- check out this link
Having said that it still gave me hope when I read it. Even though I also knew that there were over 100,000 births among women aged 40-44 in the US in 2007 and only 7500 among those aged 45 and over. It seems the chances go down to one tenth in five years or so... Then again one can argue that most women would have completed childbearing by age 45 and may have had tubal ligations or hysterectomies (or their hubbies may have had a vasectomy). I don't know how different the figures would be if that weren't the case.
Observational studies from 1950's looked at Hutterite women (who never use birth control and try to have as many babies as they can - think Duggars) and found that the average age at the birth of the last child was 41.7 or something like that. So I think fertility does decrease considerably after 45 but that is an overall statistic. There will always be individuals who are far more fertile than the general population and that's why I have a problem with doctors telling everyone over 45 that it can't happen for them. What a bunch of $%&*#@!
