Hi everyone,

I've posted here off an on since I turned 40, but I don't think I ever really introduced myself. So I guiess a intro is past due...here goes...My name is Jenna, and I'm now 41. I have been TTC my first child with my DH since we got married a little over 3 years ago. We have serious male factor infertility issues, and have no evidence that my Dh's sperm can fertilize an egg without IVF/ICSI. We've done 4 of those, plus many IUI's...and all has bee 100% out of pocket. New tests have shown that up to 40% of the small percentage of DH's sperm that looks good enough to select for ICSI is actually chromosomally abnormal, a condition called sperm aneuploidy. This, combined with my age, and a fibroid that was changing the shape of my uterus (finally removed in late July of this year), most likely comprise the factors why we have lost at least 5 pregnancies (all acheived with treatment cycles) since we started. IVF #3 gave us twins, which we thought would work out, but I lost one at 10-11 weeks (found out at 12 weeks), and the other at 16 weeks. We had PROM with the second twin, which it turns out had T21. We don't know if the first twin was chromosomally normal or not, at the time of the first twin's loss we were told it was vanishing twin syndrome.

Anyway, my RE is still optimistic that we can get successfully pg with my eggs if we keep trying, though we are running out of money. So with our history, my RE is letting me do donor sperm IUI with a IVF protocol of stims...meaning I stim for as many eggs as most would produce in IVF, but I do IUI. They may not be of great quality anymore, but I do still have a very high ovarian reserve, so hopefully I should have a few good ones in there. This cycle I had 10 follies 16mm and above which should be mature, plus another 8 right at 15-15.5 which may be mature. I didn't even ask how many smaller ones- there were a bunch.

I am optimistic about this cycle! I had lots of EWCM in the follicular phase this time, which is what I've had on the cycles that were BFP. Plus I had the fibroid removed, which may have been a factor in my many m/c's, or in implantation failure. And we used frozen donor sperm. I know it can be harder to get pg with frozen donor sperm as it is not as potent, it took 2 vials to get even 13 million motile, but at least it should be chromosomally normal so if they can manage to penetrate an egg, hopefully not predisposed to m/c on the paternal end.

I'm now 5days past my IUI. Still feeling abdominal pain from the very swollen ovaries, but I think my fluid regulation is still Ok (meaning not OHSS). If eggs were fertilized and are still developing, hopefully I should have a blastocyst or two in my uterus today. I am keeping my fingers crossed this works. We are on the waiting list for donor embryo, but are probably about 6 months away from any coming up for us, so we're trying with my eggs as much as we can afford til then.

Wishing all of you ladies GL with your cycles!-Jenna, 41, DH 38 TTC our first since September '06 with MFI.

Thanks ladies for the warm welcome and all the positive thoughts! I am still very hopeful for this cycle. I had what I thought was implantation pain at 6dpo. I am a confirmed POAS addict. I tested at 10 dpo today and have a VERY, VERY faint line on 2 HPT's but I can't be sure it isn't still the trigger shot. Also had a faint line yesterday at 9 dpo that did not show up til today. 7 dpo I had a relatively darker light pink line which was defeinately trigger. So no telling on whether the faint line today means anything or not....it could be the trigger. But it makes me feel better than seeing no line at all today. If it gets darker tomorrow that should be telling.

Nausea most of the day yesterday. Some mild crampy or twingey feelings in uterus area. Hoping these are RPS and not IPS, but still too early to know. I really hope I have some good news to share soon!

Thanks ladies! Well I think those faint lines were the trigger because I had a bfn at 11dpo. But then today at 12dpo I got a line with smu darker than any of the 9-10 dpo ones. So I think I am most likely a little bit pregnant. Still nauseous and temp is through the roof today. I've had many early losses so the BF at 11dpo and faintness of the line at 12 dpo is of concern, but it's better than another bfn. Will just have to take it day by day and hope this one sticks. This is right about the time (a bit later) I got pg with the twins last year, I'd be happy with one healthy singleton!

Taking it day by day,

Jenna

Oh that wounds so promising! By the sound of it you will likely test again on DPO13, so I hope you see a darker line!

Thanks Susan,

My line wasn't darker today (about the same) but your story gives me hope. This morning I was thinking it was probably going to be a m/c or an ectopic, but stories like this have raised my spirits a bit.

My beta is tomorrow and I get the results Sunday.

Right now I feel nauseous!

Thanks Michelle, Line wasn't darker today but still there so it's more wait-and-see. Beta is tomorrow, and I'll repeat it Monday.
