Hi everyone, I am 44 still but soon to be 45. My husband and I tried to adopt thru the foster to adopt program in our state when I was 40. The state could find no children for us to adopt under the age of 5. We have two bio boys. Ages 7 and 9. Well since we never got another child we said ok I guess we will just have another, not knowing that it is harder after 40. So I went to my obgyn and he said go for it. I got my results fsh 8.9 and progesterone 11. I thought that was good but they told me to go to an RE which I did and she told me donor eggs was my only choice.
Then it sunk in, ok this isn't going to be too easy. We have tried for 3 months using the cbfm. Unfortunately we haven't caught the last egg in there yet. I am very healthy, take prenatals, dhea, evening primrose oil, baby aspirin, and calcium/zinc. I also do acupuncture 1 x a week for the last 8 weeks.

Any advice? Should I continue the acupuncture and for how long? I will keep everyone updated on any exciting news but I am not getting my hopes up we are happy with our boys but another one would be fun! And tiring, wish a 2 year old would come out. Ha!

Thanks everyone! I will keep trying naturally for a little while and if it is meant to be then so be it. Oh, also thought you girls might like some success stories. Two women in our group of mothers who take our children to Karate had late pregnancies. One was 43 when she had her son ( he is 8 now), and the other one just had a baby two months ago. I overheard her say she was 46! Even if I overheard wrongly, I know she is not younger than 43! They were both natural too! So there is hope!

I was talking to a girlfriend of mine today (we lost touch for 20 years)....she had her 1st child at 40 and 2nd child at 43, all natural, she just took prenatal vitamins....so there's some more inspiration.

Look up dhea. You may want to try it. It takes 4 months to fully kick in. I am taking 25 mg in the am and 25 in the pm. They suggest 75 but I am keeping it a bit low. Also my dr suggested a clear blue fertility monitor. Kinda pricey but you can resell it later on eBay. Good luck and don't think too long lol!

Your FSH seems just fine to keep trying with your own eggs.

Yea, my biggest fear is a loss after getting pregnant. But I am hoping that taking my supplements will help this. That is the dhea, progesterone and a daily low dose aspirin.

I will research Reiki, thanks for the info and good luck catching that good egg!

Thanks, I will look it up......we are waiting until Oct., because we are getting married in March & if we started now and I 'did' get preggars, I would be 6 mos. preggars and I wouldn't want a big belly going down the aisle.....so, in a couple mos., either I do get preggars & belly still small or I don't get preggars & I can still drink at my wedding!
