Hi...
First of all I accidently posted this in the over 35 board.... I didn't see that there was an over 40... yeah...

I am almost 47, my dh is almost 57 and we have been married 4 years this April. We have experienced to real miscarraiges that we know of, since 8/2005.

We also have 13 kids between us, counting our own to daugthers in laws and grandchildren.

We have really wanted to have a baby together, as we haven't yet, had that priveledge.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you...

Greetings, Seventies Gal. I'm almost 45, and conceived naturally three months ago. Unfortunately, I miscarried at nine weeks, but it was probably due to a large fibroid in my uterus. I'm scheduled to have it surgically removed in a few weeks, after which DH and I will try again using IVF with donor eggs. Good luck to all of us!

Hi 70sgal, welcome! Good luck to you! It's clear that the love and parenting know-how abound in your family, so the baby is going to be very lucky.

I wanted to let you know it is possible. I come back and visit at times to give encouragement. I was TTC in 2002 and in July 2003 gave birth to a beautiful baby boy when I was 46 years and 11 months old so there is hope. We also had been married for 5 years and decided to try to have one of our own (I had a son 28 from a previous marriage who will be giving me my first grandchild in June). we concived naturally without any medical help, the doctor gave us a 5% chance but after a year and a half of trying we were suprised, my doctor actually thought I was going through menopause when I missed my period. Our little miricle is almost 4 and just can't start to decribe our lives since he has been born. He is keeping us young by trying to keep up with him. Yes there are a lot of positives and negatives to having a baby in your 40's but if you at considering it you have already weighed them out. Be prepared for a wonderful whirl wind adventure. Good luck.
