Hi there, thanks for the post! I'm on both ends of the DHEA thing. I tried it and got pregnant immediately. I unfortunately miscarried and stayed on it but lowered the dosage. I got pregnant again and miscarried again. But after talking to my acupuncturist/herbalist, I decided to stop taking it all together. I feel better now and my cycles seem to be better.

My opinion, in short, don't take anything unless you've been tested and know you need it. You can really do harm to yourself taking anything your body doesn't need. If your DHEA levels are good, then there is no reason to add to it, but if they are low, then you might need to. I have friend who tries anything she hears of to conceive. Right now she is taking Geritol and a bunch of other things. You never know how they will react to each other. Scares me!

Hello and welcome! Thanks for sharing about the DHEA. I haven't tried it, but after hearing from all of you ladies, I don't think I would do it even if I could. (Last I knew you couldn't get it in Canada) I know my levels of testosterone are already higher than usual, always have been, so I certainly don't want to risk that going any higher! Anyway, I really hope that you get your bfp soon. :-)

Everyone reacts differently to DHEA so while it may have hurt your fertility it actually helped mine.

Hi and welcome - I am on the opposite site of the DHEA issue. I tried everything prior to using it; acupuncture, diet changes, herbs, IUI, IVF, vitamins and nothing worked and eventually my new RE put me on DHEA (which I had started on my own, but his was a pharmacy grade) and I didn't even get the chance to go back to his office for the follow-up blood work because I was pregnant. So I am hopeful for your moving forward with your plans - but just wanted to chime in and let everyone know DHEA isn't always a bad thing - you just need to decide at what level you are willing to try something different, either with your dr. or on your own as to using different methods to achieve your goals - as for me I was at the end of the line and figured I would give it a try for 6 months then we were done.

Good luck and I hope to see you posting your BFP super soon!!
