Well, I can't say I'm new to these boards, but new to this board. Believe it or not, I was an active member on the TTC boards back in 2000, but things have changed a lot since then - for me and for iVilliage. I guess some background would be helpful. Since I was TTC 9 years ago, my exDH and I divorced in 2002 and I've recently remmaried. I'm 41 and DH will be 41 next month. We have 4 children: 16 (g - mine); 14 (b - his); 11 (g - his); and 9 (g - his). We both love kids and love our 4 (which we have full custody of) all as if they're both of ours, but there's a nagging desire within each of us to have an "ours" so...here I am. I have had 2 miscarriages

Thanks for your support ladies. I guess I'll look into an RE. It sounds like that's a sound first step - as we're baby dancing each month. I hadn't been charting - as we really just decided to ttc but

Hi and welcome here! I would suggest talking to your doctor right away and seeing what they want to do. Some will want you to chart for a bit first, or at least to TTC for a number of months first, but given your age your doctor might want you to come in sooner than later just to check the status of things. You likely won't have any serious issues, but it could certainly take longer than you like at this point. I have had several m/c over the years, and it can be quite common to have they around 6 weeks, even when everything is quite normal with no issues. The fact that you did get pregnant so recently is a very good sign. Other than that, I would just recommend good vitamins (including 5mg of folic acid), healthy eating, drinking enough water, exercise, things like that. I hope your stay with us is short though, may that BFP be right around the corner for you!

Hey, welcome, Marie! So sorry about your m/cs. How long have you been TTC? From what I've read, if you're over 35 and have been trying for six months with no luck, it's time to consult a fertility specialist (a.k.a. reproductive endocrinologist, or RE for short). The RE will check your hormone levels and probably recommend an HSG, which will see if your tubes are open. (And then, if you're like me, he/she will tell you IVF is the way to go. :( Which, in my case, seems to be true since we've been TTC for two years with no luck.)

Anyway -- since you've already had kids and were able to get pregnant so recently, I think your odds are good. KUP on how things are going!
