Hello. I just turned 40 and am having a very difficult time getting pregnant. The first fertility specialist told me that I should get an egg doner because I am not a candidate for In-vetro according to the blood test that were taken, it showed premature egg failure. He also said that if I went somewhere else to try in-vetro, they would be taking my money because it won't work. Well, after I received that horrible news, I seeked advice from a gynocologist that I trust. I faxed over my blood test results to him. He said that he didn't see any indication of that diagnosis! Then he gave me a name of another specialist that I am currently seeing. (who can I trust?)

This new specialist does not agree with the diagnosis that the other specialist made but said "you're 40 years old". Your eggs are 40. Nothing premature. He feels we should take the most aggressive approach and try in-vetro.

I just don't know who to trust anymore. These doctor's that play with your life!

I have always wanted children. I don't have any. My first husband was a complete butthole and lied to me for many years about wanting children

Doctors can only give you their opinion based on available statistics, no one has a crystal ball.

- Sandy (44) DS (natural) born just before my 41st birthday. TTC#2. Only issue: egg/embryo quality due to age. Clomid & multiple IUIs w/follistim &menopur = BFN. IVF#1 (Nov 2011) = 12 eggs, 9 mature & fertilized. Transferred 3 embryos (1-3BB, 2-3

See? Even with fertility specialists, how do they really know?! They are not God....if you are meant to have a baby then you have a 5% chance to do it, with your eggs.....but I wonder if the fertility specialist will make more money for themselves if they tell you need donor egg?!

I would reread "catchingup"s post....I got pg at 43, & yes, unfortunately we lost the baby.....but I will still try again, in a few months, because I believe it is ultimately up to God, if I have a baby or not....no fertility specialists for me!:smileywink:

Thanks Cowboys_grl! You are so awesome! Thank you so much for your post. And you are right; Fertility specialist aren't god and only god knows what is in store for me; if it's my time to have a baby. I'm not listening anymore to the sad sack of these doctors that say that I have a very low chance to get pregnant. I have my IVF orienation on 2/21 to learn all about the procedure and I'll take whatever happens next!

hey there.....just wanted to make sure you know, this is only my personal opinion & feeling.....I choose not to go down the fertility specialist route. altho I am sure they help alot of people!

I don't like bleak odds thrown out at me......I choose to have faith. ANYTHING is possible with God.

so, please, you make the decision, what is in your heart to do!
