My donor's retrieval was pushed to Thursday instead of Wednesday because they said "Her HCG shot didn't stableize )...Anyone know what that means????

Retrievel went very well..got 7 good eggs, we did a shared cycle and that is our share. Transfer is tomorrow morning. I will be PUPO by noon..LOL!

What I mean by "donor" is I am not using my eggs. I am 44 and of course I have age related issues. I tried a cycle with my own eggs and it was canceled due to early ovulation...that happens often in older women. So I decided to just go with the higher chance and go with the donor egg. My egg reserve is also low so I figured why waste time!

Sharon,

Any updates on the DE retrieval yet?? Remember it's not the quantity that counts but the quality..

Hi, Sharon-

I have a question. I thought IVF was having your own egg and the sperm of your DH harvested, having an embryo created from that and then implantation of the embryo. You're talking about a donor. How does that work?

I did a cursory examination of IVF and the cost is too off putting for us. I need to stop reading about statistics for 40+ women conceiving and just trust that the right outcome will happen, even if it's not what we want.

Argh. Why did I decide to conceive again so late in life? It didn't seem that late until I started researching it last month.

Sorry, no experience with IVF here either, but I am guessing it means that she might ovulate too soon otherwise. Hope it all goes well from here on out.
