Hi there, I'm a huge advocate of natural living and natural approaches- it's what I do as a profession. Some have to fine tune/tweak their diet (for example gluten containing grains and dairy can hamper fertility) and so on. That said, the two women I know personally who conceived in their late 40's/early 50's are actually teachers of natural living and both had not eaten grains/gluten or dairy for many years prior. Same with alcohol, sugar, any processed food (both are actually well known raw food teachers/advocates). One had her 4th in her early 50's- she thought she was entering menopause and she was actually pregnant. The other conceived her first at age 47 and gave birth at 48 to her little girl.
Wheatgrass juice can lower FSH levels in women who have yin deficiency helping to optimize fertility although women with high FSH have babies.
The other supplements can help egg quality (especially royal jelly and bee pollen, Q10, resveratrol etc)
I say run to the nearest reproductive acupuncturist (they should be board certified in reproductive acupuncture) to optimize your chances.
I am not doing a Western approach- I have lived a natural lifestyle since I was little and will only resort to more invasive measures if I need to (hoping I don't need to and not judging anyone who does). I see my herbalist/acu once per week and will up it to 2X per week next month when husband returns from out of country. I am newly married so have not actively TTC yet.
I use royal jelly , bee pollen, wheatgrass juice, Q10, B complex, liquid minerals, L arginine, resveratrol, eat only organic, eat grain and gluten free, no dairy, no over counter or prescription meds etc; all that I have been doing for many years. Got preggo the last 3 times on first try. I was seeing my other herbalist/acu for all those years and drinking herbs and I wonder if that optimized the last 3 times? Possibly, who can say for sure but eating and living healthy will optimize chances IMO.
I'm looking at getting the Clearblue monitor as I am now having trouble pinpointing and due to fertility acu am having over a weeks worth of fertile cervical mucous which is confusing as far as ovulation dates go.
You are welcome happy bunny. One thing regarding insurance, my insurance covers acupuncture and such but she has to write she is treating me for my thyroid because it does not cover infertility.
Hello ladies! I would like to find such a practitioner in my area . I live in southern California. I like this type of treatment I tried it in the past to control my blood pressure.

Hi,
The TCM practitioner emailed me back.
Depending on where you are in So Cal. there are quite a few fertility LAc's.
Yes, I was told the same thing- that it would be harder to get pregnant. I am not so sure but will see how it goes.
