Hello! I just read everyone's introductions and although I didn't reply, I decided to start a new thread to introduce myself and ask for some guidance.

I just turned 40 this month. My DH is 35. We have been TTC for two years and five months. I've been to the Fertility Doctor and had ALL the tests. I came out with flying colors, my DH, however, came in with a low sperm count. I was even on Clomed for 3 cycles and seemed to be taking very well to the drug producing beautiful eggs. We stopped going to Fertility in November since the stress was just too much for us and when the Dr. suggested we do IVF, we both were just not ready to go there yet. In May, my DH and I had another heart to heart and decided to try again, naturally, for six months. If nothing, then return to the Dr. and do IVF.

So, in May, I bought a BBT and started charting. I got the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and followed it step by step for my first cycle. According to the book, I SHOULD be pregnant right now, but alas, on the 19th, I had another visit from AF.

I would like someone to look at my chart and tell me what you think. As far as I can tell, I have a "normal" cycle. My LP seems fine and there is a distinct rise in my BBT to indicate that I did indeed O. Also, judging by my CF, we seemed to have BMS at the perfect time. . . . SO WHAT HAPPENED?

I did have a shorter than normal period at the start of this last cycle. It was light and more dark brown than red. A little unusual for me. As a rule, I have short periods, but more like 4 days where this one only lasted three and only one heavy day with two days of spotting. Could it be that I did not produce any eggs this past cycle??? That is the only think I can think of.

I'm not sure how to post my chart, but I will email to you personally if you are willing to try and solve the mystery.

Thanks for being there!

If you hadnt produced any eggs then you wouldnt have bled as its the unfertalized egg that initiates flo. Lack of eggs leads to menopause (lack of periods). The brown colored blood indicates old blood. Have you tried a pregnancy test? I suggest you do.

I am new to the board..48 years old and taking the Clomid Challenge test. I took the test 3 years ago and it was 5.8. Maybe there's hope??

My significant other doesn't want children and so now I am willing to do whatever it takes..

I will know the results next Wed.

Has anyone over 40 had success on this board?

Athena, I am 42years old and 10 weeks pregnant after using clomid. My last US was 10 days ago where I saw an on target developing fetus with a heartbeat of 160bpm. However, this didnt come easy. We tried naturally for 18 months. Tried two rounds of clomid, took a break got pregnant, lost it at 5 weeks. Again, took two rounds of clomid, took a break and got pregnant, it died at 7 weeks. This time around took clomid, took a break and got pregnant... everything looks good so far. I have another US and NT test on 7/13... I pray that too will show positive results.

Congratulations Melody-

I've had two pregnancies over 40 (one at 40 the other at 45) and miscarried #1 at 12 weeks and #2 at 7 weeks.

That was when I went to the specialist who discovered that I carry the anticardio lipid antibody, which he prescribes one baby aspirin daily. My FSH 3 years ago was 5.3.

I am going to do whatever it takes. I just wish my significant other would like to try...I've decided to do it with IUI or IVF if not. I am now on day 7 of the clomid challenge test..we'll see what the levels are and then I'll know my options..

Please keep in touch....and let me know how you're doing!

Athena, way to go! Great Clomid number from the recent past and you're super-close to getting your result.
