Hi All. I'm new to the board and ivillage and have been doing a lot of exploring around. Great information. I'm looking for information about how to conceive for the first time...I'm 41 and my husband is 44 and we're both in good health. I'm interested in topics about getting pregnant at my age...I've read the books about having good health, preparing myself (calcium, exercise etc), but I have not run into some of the detailed information I'm finding here (for example ovary production tests (FCI?). What kinds of specific questions should I arm myself with to discuss with my doctor? My menstral cycles are basically normal, but I have experienced more than once in the past two years slow periods, spotting at times that were 'off'. When I spoke with my physician, she said that there was no worry (at that time), it just meant that I hadn't produced a viable egg for that cycle. Well at this age, I feel every cycle and egg are important...Any advice and pointers on what to read, research, ask about, are appreciated. Thanks. Susan

I too value every cycle. I am 40, but will be 41 in October. My husband and I have been ttc for 4 years. I suffered a miscarriage in 2001, but have been seeking treatment only for the last 3 months. I am in my 2ww after my third round of IUI's. I'm hoping...
