Hi all. I'm 42 and ttc my first. I was recently tested with an fsh of 35. Finding this forum has really lifted my spirits. Thanks for sharing all of your stories. I'm still trying to get used to all of the acronyms but hope and pray one day to post a bfp.

Thanks for the welcome wishes Michelle, Vickie and Annemarie. My AF had always been regular and on a 28 day cycle so when I missed in October I went to find out why. In the process I found out I had a cyst on each ovary. Also I just reconnected with my soul mate and told my doctor I would like to start a family next year. She told me due to my age, missed AF, and other symptoms that she wanted to do an fsh test. It was 35 and I was told I was menopausal and that I should see an re even though the re would probably tell me that I wouldn't be able to conceive even wifh an ivf. When I went for a follow up on the cysts I was given a amr test (cant remember the acronym) to check my egg quality. It came back less than .16. Right now my df lives in another state. I wanted to wait til we married next year before ttc but I'm afraid with everything that's happened recently that my last AF could happen. I have gotten my AF the last 2 months which is great. Currently on cd 3. I'm sure I didn't ovulate in October but did in November. I'm going see my df on new years eve. Unfortunately it will be cd 15. But we're going to ttc anyway. I've started royal jelly, prenatals, and a wheat grass mix to try and increase my egg quality. Trying this naturally before we go to an re. Right now it seems like I'm asking for a miracle and not sure if an re will even be able to help me. I'm looking forward to taking this journey. I hope we all get our precious ones soon. Shannon.

Shannon,

Welcome to the group. Did she do your FSH on cycle day(cd)3? If she did not, then it doesn't mean anything. My ob did an FSH during a long cycle I was having, I think cd 65 and it came back 94.6!!!!. The nurse told me over the phone that I was in menopause at 40. I did 2 rounds of prevara to restart my cycles and my cd3 FSH was 6.4. The OB just shrugged and said that hormones can fluctuate. Don't give up hope. It only takes one good egg to get pregnant.

Good Luck

Mel

I agree Annemarie that we have similar stories. I also have Inconceivable. I hope the acupuncture helps. I've heard it has helped others.

Mel your right. They tested me when I missed my cycle. So I'm not sure what day it was...probably day 36. They said the ANA was a better test but that came back less than .16. Not sure what tests I should get to try and get a better read of what's going on. Trying to figure this out so I'll know what to request from the RE before they tell me they can't help me. Can I ask how long you went without a cycle? I'm glad to see it came back. Do you think the test day or the prevara or something else lowered your FSH?

Thanks for the support. I wish there was a way for me to see everyone's basics/story when they reply to me so I can be supportive as well until I get to know everyone. Baby dust! Shannon.
