Hi, I'm new to this message board. I'm 41 my husband is 28 and we have been trying to have a baby for 4 years now. I've had 3 miss carriages. I have 3 children, who are grown, my husband has none. It makes me so sad that we are unable to have a child together. I have not tried any fertility drugs, and not sure if my insurance would even pay for them. I pray all the time that I will not go through menopause. Any suggestions, I'm open to hear them. Thanks, Lara

Hi there,
I am sorry you are having such a difficult time. I had two children going into my marriage- they were 12 and 5 at the time ( now 16 and 9)and I also married a younger man ( almost nine years my jr.) I had also had a tubal ligation and had to have it reversed to try to get prgnant. Add to that I was working with only one tube and ovary so my ob/gyn put me on clomid to get things rolling. I started with days 3-7 of taking Clomid and spent 11 months trying without success. Then we moved to the Us from Canada and my new ob/gyn changed the days to 5-9 and I got pregnant the next month. I had a beautiful baby girl July/04 and then another baby girl 07/05. I was 39 and 40 when I delivered them. I am currently trying again to get pregnant- started clomid a few months ago. Got pregnant right away but had a m/c over the summer. ( I was only five weeks pregnant) I am back on the Clomid and we hope to be pregnant again soon. Believe me anything can happen!
Good luck with things! I really would not worry about menopause just yet- it could be a decade away!(or more) Focus on doing all that you can to achieve your goal, and yes,I would recommend Clomid.
