Hello. I will be 42 this month and just started a cycle. Since we have had our older 2, we have been through 6 m/c and then an ectopic pg in Dec. I have been real down lately and glad to at least be able to try again. We conceived naturally on our last 2 pgs. We decided to try a fertility drug cycle due to my age. We know our chances are low, but we just had to try. We've done ivfs and iuis before and have had pos pgs with iuis and coh cycles w/o iui. Our ivfs have been neg.

Last time we did the stims, we had to mix. Now, I will start follistim with the pen. I'm concerned about being able to do that right, but will follow directions closely. I am also taking mdl. We are hoping the stims will increase our odds. We are not doing iui or ivf this time.

I would be sooooooooo happy if we were successful. I am keeping myself in check with not getting my hopes up, but still thinking pos thoughts.

Hi, Pam. Good luck to you.

I'm mixing everything on my current IVF cycle, but I used the Follistim pen for two previous cycles. It's really easy. Actually, because of the design of the pen, I found it's easiest if you administer the shot yourself, rather than having dh or someone else do it.

Thanks for the advice, Jodi. It is going well with the pen. I got concerned when I had some left over from doing my dosages, but the pharmacist and nurse told me there are overages in those pens. That's great news! I thought I might of done something wrong with it, but have been real careful.

Best of luck to you with your IVF cycle!

Yes, they do overfill, Pam. I could usually get a full extra dose out of the pen, even

I hope so much this cycle still works out for you. It's good you still have a chance going. My first u/s for this cycle is on Monday. I know this is a longshot for us, too, even before going to that since we've been trying for so long, but if nothing else, we needed the peace of mind of trying again.

Yes, I also did what you said with doing 2 shots by switching the cartridge. It's good to know there is some extra there.

Take care! Hope the wait goes by quickly for you.
