Hi everyone! I've been browsing your boards for a while, and thought I'd introduce myself.
I am 40 (will actually be 41) in a few days, and my husband is 42. We've been married fourteen years, and for most of that time, we were not really sure if we felt ready to have a child or not. We knew that if we had kids, we just wanted to have one, so mentally I believe that we pushed it off, feeling like we had "all the time in the world." I would say that within the past year for me, and the past six months for my husband, we've really decided that we do want to have a baby together.
I now hope that it's not too late!
We are both very healthy overall, so we know we have that in our favor. I did have a uterine polyp removed about a month ago, but my doctor assures me that if anything, this should actually help with fertility. We tried this past month for the first time, but I think we missed ovulation by a couple of days. Sure enough, I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. Now I'm just looking forward to my period starting so that we can try again this month!
I look forward to reading more of your stories, and hearing of your successes!
Capricorn
Believe, me, we can all relate to the "waiting for AF to show so we can start over again"-so this is the perfect place to wait!
Glad you joined us!
P.S. Happy Early Birthday!!
Congratulations and welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I started my period yesterday and am so excited to be starting this cycle anew. I have done charting in the past, but to be honest, I am really very attuned to when I ovulate (stretchy CM, mittelschmerz pains, etc.). The reason we missed it last time was because DH wasn't feeling well on the actual day of ovulation, so no BD'ing that night. I had hoped BD'ing two days before would have done the trick, but alas not.
Been eating much healthier and taking prenatals too, so I'm hoping that will boost my chances!
Welcome to the Board -
I am new here too. We have used ovulation sticks in the past and they really helped. We got our daughter the first time we tried with them when I was 36. We are crossing our fingers again...this is our first month TTC.
I hope you get good news in month 2!
