I finally decided to join in the TTC over 40. I am 41, DH is 43, we have a DD who is 9, and have three angel babies, including our precious boy Joshua who we delivered stillborn at 22 weeks, almost three years ago. Our TTC journey has been a long one. I have had issues with very irregular periods for a long time. All my pregnancies have been without meds, so I know I ovulate, but it has been frustrating to say the least. I did make a few diet adjustments, and have had my periods regularly for the last two years. I started temping a year ago and noticed I am not ovulating regularly, my temps are all over the place. I go tomorrow to see a fertility specialist, just because I feel we do not have the luxury of time. I have to confess I am a wreck. I hate doctors, but I can't end my TTC journey with losing our son, I really pray we are able to have our rainbow baby. Hopefully I will be able to post some good news soon! First let me say how sorry I am for your losses. I lost my DD, Emory, at 38 wks in 2009 when I was 38. My rainbow, Cicely was was born in 2010 when I was 39. Right after she was born steam, I knew I wanted 1 more. This is a hard journey, but trying after a loss makes things somehow worse, probably because we know that getting pregnant is only the first step in a long fearful jouney. I saw an RE 4 monthes ago so I will share some advice. Bring your charts. You will be surprised at what you forget when you are sitting in the office. My RE does not take much stock in BBT, but it helped him to see what we were doing and how my cycles were. There are a lot of tests that the RE can do. Have them done and realise that they are just information. If you are ovulating...you can get pregnant. My RE suggested clomid to help stimulate ovulation, OPKs to prodict ovulation, and a DPO7 progesterone to confirm ovulation. He said my chances of conceiving every month was 10-15% so not getting pregnant in the first yr was not a cause for concern. I hope your RE appointment goes well. May your stay here be short. Mel
