Hello ladies! I am 44 and have been TTC since having a TR three years ago. Two previous kids, new hubby.

Since my TR, my cycle has been ranging from 20 to 27 days, mostly 24,25,26. Average 24.5 days. My last period was May 19th, lasted for four days, then three days later, I spotted for 2.5 days. VERY lightly, brownish in color. I have NEVER spotted before. Ever

(Another bit of history: The past several months, my periods have been a bit longer than previosly. I was taking MSM, went off of it in November last year, and noticed I was bleeding longer... 4 days rather than 2,5. Also noticed I was warmer feeling, which I thought was odd.)

Oh, and another bit: I ovulate very early in my cycle. Usually day 7-10, though it has come as early as day 3-4) I have been pregnant four times, and this was always the case. And basal temps confirm)

So... here I am on day 29, never having gone past day 27 in the past three years. I don't feel like I'm going to start my period. I am moody, STARVING, been having mild headaches the past two weeks and feeling dizzy several times a day. I have also been quite hyper... working hard all day, horsebackriding every day too (this is normal, don't panic) and feeling wonderful with all I have been getting done. (Though a few times friends have commented "Jeez! What's up with you lately?" *grin*

Last night I checked my cervix (which I have done many, many times prior to my period starting) and lo, and behold! High, soft, squishy, with a creamy discharge. I was so excited!

So, this morning, I did an HPT. Negative. *sigh*

So, do I wait another few days and test again? Or should I go in for a blood test? This is making me crazy!

If this seems a bit disjointed, I apologize. I'm a bit, ummm... twitterpated? Just read it all a couple times, maybe it will make sense!

Looking forward to hearing from you gals

I have been pregnant four times, yes, but those were all prior to my having a tubal, and then tubal reversal. The reversal was three years ago. Nothing since then. (Unless I am pregnant now)

I am not currently seeing a doctor. I haven't tried Clomid or anything either. We figured we'd try just getting the plumbing hooked up again, and try that.

Of course, prior to the TR surgery, both of us had tests to be sure I was still ovulating and had not started menopause. (Got a green light there) And Hubby's sperm count, motility, etc was AWESOME! (Count was Fives times the HIGH normal! We call him the WAlking Sperm Bank *grin*)

So, I hope this clears things up. And thanks for the welcome!

What brand of HPT did you use? Not all are great at detecting early pregnancy. I rely on First Response. It gave me a positive 3 days before my period was due. Your symptoms of headaches and dizziness were my first signs. While you seem hungry, I didnt feel like eating anything.

Also, you track ovulation. When did you ovulate this month? It takes the embryo 7-10 days to implant and begin producing hsg hormone and another 7ish days for the tests to pick it up.

I would go get yourself a First Response before a blood test. Much cheaper and just about as reliable. Keep us posted. I hope to be hearing good news.

Melody,

I don't keep track of my temps and ovulation anymore... after this long, I had given up! The only thing I have done is check my cervix sometimes if I got to day 26 and hadn't yet started my period. And it's always been very firm and low.

I used EPT this morning. I think I will try First Response tomorrow or Monday.

Thanks so much for your input!

No, I didn't. I ordered some tests online and was going to test when they got here, but now it seems I have started my period. *sigh*

When we embarked on this adventure three years ago, I honestly didn't think it would be this hard... all the wondering. Ugh. And I gave up long ago on testing when I didn't start when I thought I should... my periods have such a long range (20-27 days) I made up my mind that I would NOT test unless I made it to day 28, and I never have until now. Then still negative.

I am really grateful for the two kids I have, and I have always had deep sympathy for those who try and cant. Now I understand ever better how frustrating and all consuming it can be at times. I think at this point, I will assume I am starting menopause, and quit thinking about it (if possible)

Thanks for your support, it helped.
