Looks like we have several new ladies popping in this month. Welcome to you all. Rather than responding individually, I thought I'd just write up a quick note.

It's definitely not too late. I had a tubal reversal at age 41. Prior to the reversal, I was taking prenatals and folic acid for several months. I was only able to have one tube reversed. We were PG within a month. I did have a miscarriage and concieved again two cycles later. I have since turned 42. I am due in about 5 weeks with a healthy baby girl.

Just wanted to let you know that it is definitely not too late based on age alone. :)

Paula

Thanks to all who had encouraging stories. I usually don't get too many people saying I'm nuts for TTC at my age-40-but there have been some. One even told me I would have a deformed child!?! Thanks :( So, again, thank you for the hope, congrats on your pgs! And here's to the rest of us joining in the BFP's!

When I was pg at 40 I had ALOT of people say things or just generally give me a disapproving attitude about my age. I had everyone from my daughters friend who is in nursing school, quoting me statistics on DS, to the men at my work dropping snide comments. And to be honest, it was the men who had the worst attitudes of all-like me being pg at 40 suddenly made them infertile or something-I dunno.

Thanks for some inspiring good news and CONGRATS on your baby girl that you will be meeting soon! Have you picked out a name? One quick question, why were you taking a baby aspirin daily? Was this recommended to you because of a specific health issue? Or is it a preventative of some sort?

THanks Renee,
I was taking baby asprin because it is thought to plump up the lining of the uterus to make implantation more likely/easier. :) We do not have a middle name yet, but her first name will be Josephine. :)

Best of luck!

Bumping this up to the top... also want to encourage the newbies to read the success stories in the "Moms to be" section towards the bottom of the board. My story is there from the first days I found out I was pregnant at 10 days past ovulation. I have read it a few times simply because I am blown away by my own success story. There is hope, ladies. :)

If you just want to see my brag photos of, what I think is, the most adorable little baby girl (who I never thought I'd love so much- as I wanted a boy)... check out my flickr account:

Hi Paula,

What a beautiful collection of photos of your new baby girl. Thanks for sharing with us (not so newbies) as well.

She is so beautiful. Enjoy every ounce of her.
