Not pg again

So, I'm 13 dpo and I've taken 2 tests, both glaringly white. I was pretty sure I wasn't pg, but I have a bunch of the dollar store tests and thought I'd try anyway. I've been taking baby aspirin, co Q10, pycnogenol, red raspberry, 5 g. folic acid, prenatals, b complex, progesterone suppositories. Some months I've tried maca, vitex, or soy isoflavones. I just bought the ov watch, so will start that this next cycle. I'm thinking about whether I should go off of everything except the vitamins. I was also thinking of trying fertility blend. I'm 44 and have had 2/mc's and 2 chemical pg's since August '05. Before that I'd never had any problems and got pg right away when I wanted to. I never took anything besides vitamins back then. My last baby was born when I was 40. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether to take some of these things or nothing? I did start back on acupuncture a couple weeks ago and I'm going to continue weekly treatments for awhile.

It stinks, month after month when AF arrives..... I know what you mean. I have done 2 IVFs and 4 IUIs and had 2 m/c in the last 3 years so now we are going by faith that i have at least ONE good egg in there but still it hurts when you time everything for those certain days and two weeks later...BAM...here comes AF. It didn't work again.

I just started the B6/vitex fertility recipe as posted below. I've tried it all. Bee pollen, L'arginine, Wheat grass, the list goes on and on.....so we just keep praying.

Check this out and see what you think...Good luck !!!

Desiree I could have written your post! I am 42 and have been ttc since my mc in April. I used to be able to get pg very easily. My first dd took two tries, my second one three. I got pg on my second try in February. I went in for a routine early ultrasound at 9 weeks and discovered the baby had died at 7 weeks. I had a D&C the next day. We started trying again in May with no luck. I wonder if the D&C messed me up inside so I can't get pg again. I too am taking vitamins, extra folic acid, super b-complex, extra b-6, coq10, grape seed extract and I just started vitex the past cycle. I read the thread about old eggs and decided to try it like taking clomid days 4-8. I am also using progesterone cream. Af was due today, but she is still late, but temps are going down and I started spotting. I did take a test yesterday with the dollar store test and it was negative. If I don't get pg in January I am going to call the dr to go in for tests. I just don't know what to try anymore. I feel my family won't be complete until we have one more. It is like I know a baby is out there waiting to join us.

Laura,

I also feel like a child is missing from our family. In July '05 we decided to start ttc. I got pg right away. It ended up being a chemical pg as I lost it at 4w 5d. Then the next month I got pg again right away. At almost 12 weeks we couldn't find the hb, so I had an ultrasound. The baby had died somewhere around 8 weeks. I stopped the progesterone cream and started m/cing the next day. I got pg again in Feb. - lost that one at 7 weeks. Then another chemical at the end of July. I tried the vitex like clomid on days 3-7 this month - but no luck. I'm thinking of trying fertility blend now - I've never used it before, thought I might try something new. I know it has vitex in it too. I've had tons of bloodwork done, everything normal. My fsh was 14.7, but my doctor didn't think that mattered too much because I am ovulating. I tried clomid for 2 cycles, but it dried up my mucous to almost nothing. I've also have been taking l-arginine (until a couple weeks ago when I ran out). Everytime I run out of something, I question whether I should keep taking all this stuff. Some of these things are pricey. I'm kind of thinking now I'll stick with the aspirin and l-arginine. I'm going to take the extra B vitamins that are in the fertility recipe. I'm debating whether to stay on the progesterone suppositories. Hopefully I have a good egg in there somewhere!

Most of the time I took vitex, it was everyday except for the 5 days of af. I went off it for a couple months and then last month I took it only on days 3-7, because someone else on this board who's pg said that's what she did. She said it was supposed to be kind of like clomid. I've also tried soy isoflavones the same way - also supposed to be like clomid. So last month when I tried the vitex on days 3-7, I also took the soy at the same time. I guess I was hoping maybe both would be better. No luck yet. I just bought the ov watch, which I'll start using this cycle. I think I'm going to try the fertility blend now - I've never used it before. The website says to take it everyday. It's vitex, some herbs, and some B vitamins, I think.

With my last baby (I was 39 1/2 when I got pg, 40 at birth), I didn't take anything except Neo-Life vitamins, which I had been taking for about 10 years. I got pg right away too. That's why I was so shocked when we started ttc just a couple years later, I had so many m/c's and now don't seem to be able to get pg. My acupuncturist says my kidney Qi is in an extremely depleted state. She's hoping to improve it with weekly treatments for the next three months. I don't know though if that will improve egg quality. I'm going to try to remember to ask her when I go there tomorrow. Since all my tests have been normal, it would seem that the only thing left as a cause is age and egg quality.

AF stands for Aunt Flo - menstruation. I've gotten pg 4 times in the last year, so my tubes are fine. I also had an ultrasound to check for fibroids, polyps, etc. and that was normal too. I do take my temp and chart everyday. I record it on fertilityfriend.com. I took clomid for two cycles. It was cheap - $5 insurance copay, but I didn't continue because it dried up my mucous to almost nothing. I'm assuming dh's sperm count is ok because I've gotten pg so many times. Dh is 45 and I'm 44.

Use the progesterone after ovulation until the end of that cycle. You usually start about 3 DPO, so you can be sure you ovulated. If you take it before you have ovulated, the progesterone will probably stop ovulation from happening that cycle. A really good brand is "Stay in Balance". It's way more concentrated than Progest, and is about 1/2 as expensive per dose.
