Hi Melissa and welcome to the board. Your journey sounds similar to many women today and is the reason so many are having first babies in their 40s. I wish you much luck and success on your IVF! There are a few others here currently doing the IVF procedures so you will find a lot of understanding and support.

Thank you so much. I took my HCG shot tonight and I am very hopeful and a little nervous about it. My latest follie count was 12 with several looking very good and useable.

I'm one of the recent "graduates" -- age 42 -- and just want to encourage the hopefulness you're already feeling. You can do it!!

Hi Melissa and welcome to the board!! I wish you great success with your ER on Friday and hope you get some super quality embryos to implant!! I just recently found out (through a mutual friend) that one of the women in our baseball boosters club just got her BFP after 3 rounds of IVF! She is having identical twins!! The first 2 rounds they placed 3 embryos and this last time they placed 7!!! Her doc said it was not recommended but because it was her "last" shot under insurance and her AMA made it unlikely she would have higher-order multiples he did it! And then one embro made itself 2(hence identicals) she is estatic!! I tell you this to give you hope that you too can succeed in this journey and be a mom!
