So true. One can never predict how things will go. My mom had a friend who was young with several children (it was around 1976) who ended up dying of ovarian cancer. She would have been in her 30's. We were in PEI when my mom found that her friend was dying and was told that if she wanted to see her friend to go as soon as possible as her friend didn't have much time left
It's funny how doctors are so different. When I went in for my routine exam (with the doctor that delivered my 2 yr old)...it was my doctor not me that brought up having another baby....she was the one that said it's time to have another. I was surprised and said "don't you think I'm too old"....and she said "no....you're a wonderful mom and we need more moms like you in the world and more children in the world like your daughter"....she really encouraged me and then told me about a patient that was 44 when she got pregnant and had a healthy baby boy....
I'll be 42 in a few weeks.
Good luck and let us know what happens at your appointment!
Thanks so much for the encouragement Ladies!! I needed some peptalk and you guys are awesome but I already knew that because I have bopped in and out before.
Hi Erin. I agree with Joan, just tell the doctor right up front that you know the risks but still want to try. I know you think it is early, but you might want to consider going in to talk to your doctor just to find out how difficult he might be. If he is going to be too difficult to work with, then you will still have time to find another doctor before you are planning to be on it. Mine gave me all the warnings, but in the end was supportive of how we wanted to approach things, so I can live with that.
On a side note, you mentioned that you homeschool, so do I! So far it has just been the older two, but I will start the next one in Kindergarten this year, but his little sister copies everything he does, so I will need to start her a bit too. Should be an interesting year, especially if we do get pregnant!
