Pre-Seed Effectiveness

Well, I hate to say it but the 8-day bd marathon didn't do the trick. O was late so we ended up doing it more times than expected. Of course that means we ran out of pre-seed too early. As I put in another order for the stuff (it seemed easier and potentially more effective than the Robitusson, EPO, routes), I am wondering if it really helps to do the trick (i.e., transport the swimmers). Has anyone actually gotten pregnant using the stuff or known someone who has? (I see that twoweekwait.com has a few testimonials - but I don't know how much I trust them as they also sell the stuff!)

hi Sky...

I've read other messages about pre-seed. What exactly is it???? We've been ttc for 2-1/2 years now.

First of all, I'm sorry that your marathon sessions didn't work. But heck, you two are rock stars in my book. I don't think my DH and I could do that without passing out!! :-)

I think that if at all possible, your own CM is better than PreSeed. But if you don't happen to be producing enough CM, then PreSeed is the next best thing.

Connie, PreSeed is a lubricant but unlike KY or some other brands, it doesn't kill sperm. It's kind of expensive but it does feel "natural." When I was using KY, it made me feel itchy inside--not pleasant.

Ironically, the times I've gotten pregnant were when I was using KY. Granted, that was a year and two years ago, so I was younger...

But when I need help, I do use PreSeed, primarily because it doesn't leave me feeling itchy afterwards!

I have used and really like the texture of Preseed, although I have not known anyone who has gotten a BFP after using it. I am keen to see what other people answer to the original poster regarding actual usefulness.

DH & I are about to go into the Plan marathon in a couple of days... He was a pretty good trooper last month!

Well, I have some EWCM, but much less than when I was younger. And it seems to stop 2 days (or more sometimes when O is delayed) before O... In addition, I read on another topic that some women were concerned that the semen wasn't reaching the cervix (i.e., it was 'dry' after bding). Soooo, looking for maximum advantage, I figured that pre-seed would help in these areas. But I need more proof!

Sometimes I feel like we are conducting a science project here... trying to change the 'control' variables to get different results. For example, we bd'd in the PM last month, this month we will try AM. This plus using the pre-seed closer to the actually O date will hopefully do the trick. Fortunately DH is a scientist, appreciates this approach and has been a trooper about implementing the BDing plan!

I have heard of a few women on other boards who got pregnant using Preseed.
