Hello Ladies. I am 44 and hoping to schedule a TR in early 2010. In the meantime, my ObGyn has ordered bloodwork to see what my hormone levels look like. So far so good and everything (FSH, LH, etc...) has come back within normal limits and is not indicating that I am close to menopause. Today, I had my 21 day lab where they checked my progetserone level. I should hear what it is tomorrow. My doc is good about translating the results, but I thought I'd ask what other women's levels have been (especially those who have been able to conceive over 40). I'm pretty new to these message boards and, so far, have enjoyed the interaction and appreciate the support. Good luck to all. Jen

Hi and welcome Jen! That is great that your levels have all been good so far, very encouraging. I know there are lots of others who have had their progesterone checked quite regularly and should be able to help you with their levels. I only had it drawn once after being on clomid so it would have been higher than normal and was about 53 if I remember right. I hope your levels come back with good results. Can they do the TR any sooner? I am also 44 and from everything I have learned the status of your fertility can change quite quickly at any time after 40.

Thanks, ladies, for your input. I know it's an uphill climb but my partner and I so want to give this a shot. I wish we could do the reversal tomorrow but won't have the $ until after the first of the year. We will maintain hope and faith until we've decided that we just can't go any further. Looking forward to hearing good news about my progetserone levels and then it's onward from there! Thanks for your support. Jen

Welcome, Jen! Best of luck on your TTC journey. Here's something I've been wondering about it -- if you've had tubal ligation, can you still do IVF (without getting a TR)? Just curious.

szny: I don't know much about IVF as I know we can't afford it, but I think TR is an alternative to IVF and vice versa.


All: As I said in an earlier post, I had my progesterone level checked
