Hi everyone

I am not new to the Board.....I seem to do the disappearing act every once in awhile, but I thought I'd re-introduce myself .....again:-)

Firstly - Kim, Brenda (and whoever else I am missing), CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP's.

Hey, welcome back, Carolina! Nice to see you.

I was actually thinking about you recently because I too was diagnosed with a uterine anomaly -- septate uterus. These things are more common than I ever thought! (I'm on the Yahoo Mullerian Anomalies group, too -- are you there? It's also very supportive.) Fortunately I was able to have the septum removed with a little bit of surgery. But I've read a lot of success stories about women with unicornuate uteri who've gone on to have babies, so I have all the hope in the world for you! Clearly, you are able to get pregnant, so it's only a matter of time.

Carolina:

Welcome back!

Thanks for your shout out to me. Sawyer is a totally excellent little guy. He is worth all of the months of disappointment, and everything else it took to get him. It was hard going... wearying actually... but worth it.

As for having another? My goodness - it took 3 years in total to get him... and at 43 now, that's a long time. Randy & I have decided our family is complete. I am not entirely settled with this decision, but it is the decision we have made. Honestly, I don't think we could afford to house, educate and entertain more than 3 kids. With the Yellow Lab - out van is pretty much already full when we go out.

We've got two girls and a boy... I believe the factory is closed, at least the production department.

Good luck to you. It seems like you have fresh approach to TTC, which is sometimes necessary. I hope it works quickly and perfectly.

Thanks Susan!

Funny how after we start TTC we begin to find out all sorts of things about bodies which we never new before.

Carolina, the Mullerian Anomalies web site is here: http://mulleriananomalies.blogspot.com. Warning: it has cartoon drawings of uteri, so you might not want to open the page in mixed company! :) You can link to the Yahoo group from there.

I was diagnosed with a subseptate uterus in January and had surgery on March 11 (last week). It was absolutely painless (unlike my HSG -- yowza!). The septum wasn't very big -- 1.5 cm -- but that would be enough to really mess with a pregnancy. I was in and of the hospital in less than four hours, and there was literally no recovery time -- I went back to work the next morning.

I have a follow-up visit with the RE next Thursday, and hopefully he'll let me start TTC with my next cycle. Will keep you posted!

Again, good luck! Awaiting news of your BFP and happy, healthy baby.
