Rolling the Dice

Hello Everyone -
I am new to the board and hoping for the same - a healthy baby in my 40s! My husband and I have one daughter who is 6 now. We got PG the first time when I was 36 when we tried with the help of a single ovulation stick. We have waited because my health care plan is one of those catastrophic coverage only plans and doesn't cover maternity. Grrr! It will cover me if I have complications due to pregnancy but not the baby or the birth. So on top of trying to conceive so late, I will be negotiating directly with the Drs. and the hospital to pay cash up front for birthing services.
After reading all of the information online that is so d-i-s-c-o-u-r-a-g-i-n-g for women after 40, I wonder what will happen. But we are williing to roll the dice. I am 42 and in relatively good health. No underlying health issues, no blood pressure worries, no big stressors in my life right now (knock on wood). I have been taking prenatals for 2 months and have more ovulation sticks in my medicine cabinet. Here's crossing my fingers that I can pop a few healthy eggs still!
