Small update
Tue, 01-29-2013 - 5:06pm

Hello Ladies!!

It is so good to see some familiar names still on the board, I suspect we've lost several members on this new format, which is not very user friendly Yell. Anyway, small update on us, still not pregnant, but we will have a new daughter within the next month. We were matched with a little girl who is five, that was about the age we were hoping for, we get to meet her in two days (YIKES!!!). We are getting the house and room ready, and we are very excited (and super nervous!!).

I read an article while at the adoption agency the other day, stating very clearly that adoption will not overcome the sadness of infertility... It was an excellent article. I am learning to come to terms with that; Not an easy task, may I add. But, We are making our dream of a larger family a reality, and that makes me very happy.

I'm not sure if I should post here as I am not really TTC over 40, but still wanted to give you a small update.

Wishing you all the best.

Me (42) - TTC naturally since 1997; DH (44); DD (10), DS ^i^ Stillborn at 24 weeks 4/2009, Angel babies ^i^ - 08/1997, 02/2010. **01/2012-Officially started adoption journey. Homestudy approved 11-1-12!!! Now on to the waiting game... YES!! More waiting! God teaching me to be patient...

hey, my girl!!  Great news about your new daughter!!  5 is such a great age!!

I reached my 'give up' age of 45, so DH and I are no longer trying either.  Altho, it sucked to be pg., then have m/c after m/c...I am now relieved we decided to stop, I now know and we can get on with our lives!!

Congrats and a child is a child whether you give birth to them or not and you will find yourself loving your adopted child with a love you never experienced before and soon would not imagine your life without them....sooo happy for you! <3

Kiki (hit my magic age of 45 and no longer TTC),but mom to a beautiful teen DD & 2 angels in heaven & married to my best friend

Hi Bonalex, (phew, 4 attempts to login to reply, success at last!) SOOOO great to hear your wonderful news.  How exciting.

I am really glad you updated us, I often think about you, and how this journey is going.  A family is a family, however they find their way to each other.

Congratulations, and I hope that this works out.  PLEASE let us know after you meet her.

I wouldn't mind if possible to get a link to that article about adoption not overcoming the sadness of infertility.

Bonalex, I would be very sad not to find out how you are going.  I think you so belong here.

I look forward to hearing your news soon.
