Hello;

I am 38 and recently had a missed miscarriage due to Trisomy 21. This was my first pregnancy. I am afraid to try again.

Anyone healthy deliveries after chromosome related miscarriage.

Best wishes & good luck to all

Yes, one of my best friends just delivered a healthy baby girl after losing her previous pregnancy because of Trisomy 21. In March 2008, she found out about the Trisomy and miscarried, and was pregnant three months later and just gave birth a few weeks ago. The chances are so small that it would happen again.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It would be very unlikely for it to happen to you again. I'm sorry for your loss.

Hi Ellen,

Thank you for your kind support. May I ask how old was your friend. I am especially worried about my age.

I don't mind you asking at all. She's 41 years old and has had other miscarriages. Her newborn daughter is the picture of perfect health. :)

It is possible for your or the baby's father to be carriers of Trisomy 21.

Trisomy 21 gives you a reason for the miscarriage that ISN'T related to your ability to sustain a pregnancy.
