Good luck to all out there ttc or those who are pregnant

Have just m/c no 3 (all at weeks 5-7), and am getting negative thoughts re getting pregant at 41 (ie oops, forgot to have children on my way to a career, is this my punishment? know this is self defeating but...)

would love to hear from anyone who has had success with the same profile to click me out of self pity phase...

Hi,

First let me welcome you to the board & say that I am glad you found us. I am so very sorry for your losses. I know it is devasting. I am also 41 TTC #1 for 3 years. I also have had a few M/C's & found out the women with recurrent M/C's most likely have an immunological problem. There are 5 categories of Reproductive Immunological problems & they are explained on a web site for Dr. Alan Beer. His address is repro-med.net He is in California & can work with you long distance. You would have blood drawn locally & ship it & he would go over your results & consult with you over the phone. He will work with you in conjunction with your OB/GYN when the time comes. He treats a lot of us older gals as well although there are women of all child bearing ages that have problems with recurrent M/C's He has had patients with up to 12 M/C's come to him & with his treatment they deliver healthy babies. His stats are really high. He is pretty much what you would call the founder of this type of treatment & has been doing it successfully for 27 years. There is also a group of women who are his patients & patients of other RI's who exchange info on this type of treatment on yahoo. Unfortunately I am unable to give you the web add because ivillage does not permit links to messages boards outside of ivillage. If you are interested in talking with some of his patients after reading his site you can email me lcubeiro@earthlink.net & I will give you the address. ivillage does have a message board for RI but the one I spoke of is mostly this Drs patients and is detailed with research documents, tests results & specific treatment plans, so I find it more helpful.

Hope this helps!

Lisa

Thanks for your welcome, I am glad I found the site too! You sound as though you have a similar history to me and I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the information about Dr Beer, I will follow up on that.

I also have a response to your question on the general site re herbs etc which is that:

- a 44yr old friend of mine has just given birth to a healthy baby boy AFTER 3 years of IVF, only one ovary, and being advised she was infertile. She had given up IVF and everthing (bought a dog) and was initially diagnosed as having menopause (big suprise at 4 months!). What she had done, though, was go to a Chinese dr and had been taking chinese medicine for general health & energy.

She is certainly an advertisement for it -I am going to give it a try too! you may want to give it a go.

Take care and keep in contact,

Kate
