Hi!

My daughter will turn one in May, and my DH and I are thinking about TTC starting next month.

You sound just like me!!! My DD turned one in March and I was 40 when I had her. We're also TTC right now. It's nice to know someone else in my situation.

Hi,

How long have you been TTC for baby #2?

Emily is beautiful !!! I have a story similar to yours. I got married at age 39, and hadn't had periods for a few years (my doctors told me I probably wasn't ovulating, which didn't bother me at the time, b/c I didn't think I really wanted to have children). But, I ended up getting pregnant at age 40, and am soooo in love with my little girl that I really want another one !!! I am now 42 & know my chances of trying to conceive are slim. I am not going to do IUI or in vitro - I am just going to try to time it right for the next few months using ovulation prediction kits & see what happens. Believe me, I know my chances are slim, but, I just want to give it a shot ... I'm nervous about it not happening for me this time. It happened so effortlessly the first time! All my doctors were amazed that I got pregnant without having periods, but, it happened!

i am having periods now (never did before i got pregnant - very strange). and, i haven't yet had any dr. testing done, but, I do use the ovulation prediction kits every month, and, per them, I am about to ovulate ... so, i'm really not sure ...

Emily, good luck to you too! What do you mean, "I am still on hold?"

It's so weird to me that it happened so effortlessly for me with my first pregnancy. As I think I said, I didn't even realize I wanted a baby until I had one! Now that I really really want another one, I'm sure I'll realize how very fortunate I was a year ago when I got pregnant without even trying. I am just trying to stay positive. I have a lot of fears/doubts b/c of my age, but, I know women in their 40's (42, 43, 44, and 45) who have all gotten pregnant & had very healthy pregnancies. I will probably try until I am 43 & if it doesn't happen by then (that's an entire year - I'm not sure I'd even "try" that long), then I will just consider myself blessed with my one little girl & always know that I tried. Is that kind of how you feel too? Keep me apprised!

I'm on hold because of my relationship.
