TTC is expensive!

I have taken enough pregnancy tests (only a few) before AF is due. They have always turned out to be a BFN. So I try not to test until at least a day after my AF. I can see that if I try to test before AF is due and then its a negative and then AF is late then it costs me twice as much. I'm a cheap skate... Last time I tested in 2009, it was two days after my missed AF, w/a BFN. AF didn't come still, I didn't retest, instead I waited for a week after AF missed and made a Dr. appointment which was 3 days later. Blood test came up BFN also. 2 days later I got AF. I guess I could have tested again on my own rather than go to Doc but in the end I still came out better copay wise to go for the blood test. Luckily, AF came pretty soon after testing because I can't imagine having to go back again.

You are so right about it being expensive! I went out and bought a CBFM (from someone I know so I only paid $50) but the test sticks are expensive. I bought the sticks from, the cheapest i could find online. I've purchased opks, pregnancy tests and all this whle DH and I are in a huge budget crunch. I like your idea of just BD'ing every other day before o but we are so tired at the end of the day. Good luck, I hope you get that BFP in no time.

I know what you mean about being expensive. I buy wondfo ovulation and pregnancy tests online from amazon for about $10 for 50

It can get a little pricey. I shop eBay for Wondfo OPK's and HPT's.

And, if you want to get supplement herbs to help.....those are about $15-$18 each herb!

Oh yeah, I forgot about prenatal vitamins. Although, I do save money on those by breaking them in half (mine are 800 mg of Folic acid so that still gives me 400mg which is recommended for women of child bearing age) I couldn't handle a full one because I got pretty severe constipation (not normally a problem for me) I read you could split them up. Of course that was meant to be one in am and one in pm, I only take half a day. I wasn't taking a multivitamin at all so still quite an improvement. As for herbs, do they really work? There are so many "remedies" I have heard of here that I never have heard of before. I have close doctor friends I bounce them off of (non-fertility types) and they have not heard of many of these. I think docs in general are skeptical of herbal remedies in general though. My friends though don't think it is nuts to TTC in your 40's though, in fact, they have doc friends that are 40+ and TTC. I don't hear many docs discourage the practice these days, it's too bad that some still spout that crap. Anyway, I am completely off topic. Take care all. And happy Friday eve.

Just a thought...I got (very fast) pregnant using absolutely nothing.

The problem with the IC (interenet cheapies we call them) is that I use them like crazy even when I shouldn't, I mean I already POAS and I am only 5DPO, I waste them!
