Hey all-

Hoping someone can offer some advice!

DH & I have been TTC for about 2 yrs, we have skipped a month here & there...anyway, I decided to go get check out and did, everything seems fine so I finally got him to go for a SA and he were shocked to hear the results. We do have 1 DD who is 4 yrs old, we had no trouble conceiving her and it happens within 2 months of TTC.

Results of 1st SA:

Vol 4.1/concentration 3 mil/ motility 33%/ morph normal 1%

Thanks for all the info!

I am somewhat afraid of going through IVF...as I have a 4yr old, just afraid of taking any chances...

Does anyone know the odds of getting a BFP at 40 w/MFI going through IVF ICSI???

I think there is still a chance for you without going the IVF route, but not as good as it could be. There may be quite a lot you can do about MFI, so there is good news there. I have not done IVF, but I am not sure the odds are really that much better, so I would ask your doctor lots of questions about all of that. We do not have any real issues with either of us anymore, (there had been some issues in the past) yet my doctor still suggested IVF with donor eggs to me just because of my age. I think our chances are much better to try on our own than with IVF, but I know part of his concern was our personal miscarriage rate, with is pretty high. (6 out of 9 pregnancies) Just write down all of your questions when you think of them and just keep asking questions until you are sure about what route you want to take. ((((Hugs))))

Hi. I would not go directly to IVF. Chances of conception are 5% over 40. DHs sperm count has nothing to do with IVF odds, because they are putting a fertilized egg back -- and they only need one good sperm and one good egg to do it. Sperm counts change and there is a good chance you can get PG on your own. At 40, I might give it a few more months. There are also male fertility vitamins you can try that may help. Good Luck and don't give up hope.
