Tuesday Icebreakers

I got this idea from another board, but I liked it and hope you will too. Every Tuesday (until we are sick of this) I thought I would ask a question to help us get to know each other outside of TTC. Funny that we know each other's O dates, BD schedule and cycle dates, but not basic stuff that neighbors/colleagues etc

Great idea Krista!

I am a RN in Labor & Delivery, but I don't deal with the laboring moms, just the newborn babies as soon as they come out, and only if they're normal and healthy. If they aren't, they go to the NICU.

I love my job and think it's the best job in the world. The best part is the happiness on mom's face when labor is over and she finally gets to hold that baby in her arms.

I am an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) and I am the Admissions Nurse/Medical Records person at a nursing home.

I love my job because I get to make our new residents feel welcome and use my nursing skills but don't have the stress of being a charge nurse.

What a great post Krista!!!

Susan, you have been working very hard. You sound pretty mentally healthy to me -- especially given that Alec has special needs and you are doing such a great job taking care of and advocating for him. Seems to me that you work full time.

Well, my job seems rather dull in comparison to what's been posted so far...all of you women should be very proud of your achievements in the 'working world', whether it be outside of the home, or (the hardest job of all) taking care of the home, and especially its littlest residents.

As for me, I'm a Sr. Buyer / Planner for one of the 3 major lighting companies (Big yawn, I know...lol).

I am an LPN,(Licensed Practical Nurse) but have not worked as a nurse since 1998. I am currently a PCA (Personal Care Attendant)I work 2-3 days a wk caring for a 8 yr old boy with cerebral palsy in his home. I also have home schooled my children since 1993. Three of my "students" have since graduated and a 4th will be graduating in two yrs, then I have three more children to go. I was a SAHM for most of my 25 yrs of marriage/parenting. I have worked very part time to not at all over the yrs. I love my "set up" currently b/c I have the best of both worlds, flexibility and am doing a rewarding job in caring for a child with special needs and helping out his mom whom happens to have been a friend of mine for 15 yrs. The family also home schools, has a large family as well, so we are a perfect fit.
