Two critical ?s about charting & BDing

I was reading that CD1 starts on the first day of full menstrual bleeding. I started my period yesterday with my typical dark/brownish, very light flow. This morning -- what I consider to be CD2 -- was the first day of full, red, menstrual bleeding. So, should I consider today to be CD1 since yesterday was just the brownish light start of the period?
Secondly, my fertility chart says that my forecasted fertile days are 9/24, 9/25, 9/26 with forecasted ovulation day of 9/27.
Should we start BDing on 9/24-9/27 every day? Doesn't that lower the amount of sperm being deposited if we BD every day, or does the sperm count build back up over the next 24 hrs? Should we BD every other day? Should we BD on the day of ovulation and the day after?
He'd better be up for this, that's all I got to say! BDing every day is not our style. 8-)
Would love to hear input. Thanks!

Hi Melissa,
Yes, you should count today as CD 1 since it is the first day of full flow.
As for BD every day before ovulation or every other day, I have heard both ways.

I count CD1 as the first full day of bleeding.
I would count your first cycle day the first day you started spotting or bleeding, even brown. My dr says that they only time you'd start cycle day 1 the next day is if AF came at bedtime.
as far as BDing, you should BD the week prior to ovulation so the sperm isn't "old" sperm. then when ovulation is nearing, start BDing every other day. when you get a positive opk or you believe you are Oing, then every day till temp shift to confirm ovulation has occurred.
my DH loves BDing EXCEPT he hates it on a schedule!!! that can really take the fun outta it and when the fun is gone, then my DH gets crabby! I tried not telling him when I got a positive ovulation stick, but he was going to go to sleep that night so i had to fess up. hope this helps and good luck!!

LOL I can just picture it. "Hey, honey . . . you need to get it up cuz I'm OVULATING, okay?!" Yeah, that's real romance. My husband doesn't spring to attention on command either. 8-)
Thanks for your responses. I think I'm going to get an OPK this month to guide me as I learn more about my cycle since time is of the essence. I wish I hadn't waited so long to make up my mind. Time has a way of slipping away when we're not paying attention.

Melissa:
My RE says to count the day of first full flow as CD1.

My doctor told me that if full flow started before 4pm to count that as CD1, but if it started after 4pm to count the next day as CD1. If you are only keeping track for charting purposes, I don't think it really matters, as long as you are consistent about it. Because I am taking clomid, it definitely does matter and so I go with what he said to do.
As for BDing, do what works for you. Every day can be quite taxing, especially if it isn't what you are used to. If there are no concerns with numbers, then I wouldn't worry and just go with every other day. Time may be getting away on you, but you don't want all of this putting unnecessary stress on your relationship.
