Weird period

Hi, I am 41 and trying to have a baby (I have one DS, age 8). I was on the pill for about a year and went off of it in July. Since then, I've had three regular periods (28-day cycle). This month my period came on CD #23 and it's extremely light..two days of brown spotting and two days of very little blood.

Does this mean anything or is it just a fluke? I've heard that light periods mean you didn't ovulate. I am hoping that's not the case.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

GO TO YOUR OB NOW. At our age, time is our biggest enemy. It is a very real possibility you are in perimenopuase. That doesn't mean it isn't possible to get pregnant at all. But ANY warning we get that something is atypical, we have to act on. Get a CD 3 FSH and inhibin B test. Once you get the results from that, your doctor can advise you on how to proceed. Everyhting could be totally normal, and you'll simply TTC until you get your BFP. But, if anything is off, then s/he can advise you on ART.

Best wishes for a BFP for you ASAP : )
