Hi ladies-

So DH and I have made a pretty big decision. We've been recommended to do an injectable /IUI cycle called a long lupron/ birth control overlap. This cycle will take 2 months however during the first month they said I will only need one baseline ultrasound and labs day 2-4 of my cycle.

Ellen, I'm so excited for you! I really hope that IUI will work and you can get your BFP. I've never had anything invasive so I don't have any advice. I'm also in another group and it sounds pretty similar to the protocols I've read about when girls have done IUI. I hope someone has some advice for you. I was beginning to wonder where a few of the girls have gone, I hope we haven't lost some of our long termers, TTC is just so difficult.

Hi Ellen! That IS a big decision--congrats on taking the step! I don't have any first-hand knowledge for you; have you tried asking on the IUI board?

Hey Ellen, I have mostly banned myself from the boards for mental health but peek in every once in a while. For my current IVF cycle, I am doing an OCP/ lupron protocol followed by follistim/ menopur. It sounds like you are doing something similar but with IUI instead of IVF, am I right?

In case I don't peek in for a while, the shots aren't so bad. Maybe a brief sting than done. Some girls ice the spot first but I didn't need to. I did have some bruising but mild. As you go on, your ovaries feel a bit...heavy...but it didn't hurt. I moved it around in a u under my belly button. Your RE should tell you this but don't exercise once stims start to prevent ovarian torsion (although still pretty rare). Good luck!! I start lupron tomorrow.

Tess I'm glad you checked in, I was wondering if everything was going ok. I can understand needing to get away for mental health reasons. Keep checking in from time to time even if you don't want to post. We're all still thinking of you no matter what, and hoping you get your BFP!
