we're on team...

it's been a week since our "big" ultrasound, and i realized i haven't updated you ladies yet.

I'd been prepping myself for a boy the whole time. DH was convinced from the beginning that it's a girl. The last few days, I'd mentally thought "she," so I thought I was finally having some of that mother's intuition.

Well, it's a boy! We're still adjusting our minds around that. But the most important thing is that everything looks perfect and healthy. Measuring spot on, and all is as it should be.

The tech didn't see the actual stomach, saying it had probably emptied and was right at the beginning of the cycle. She said everything related to the stomach was there (evidence that all is fine). She started to see it fill up just a bit at the end, and she and the doctor are not worried. I'll get another quick peek at my next appt in 4 weeks to confirm that all is functioning properly.

DH hasn't liked any boy names yet, so now begins the quest to find a suitable name.

Congratulations on healthy little baby boy! Did the TTC psychic predict that way back when?

Haha, nope! Pretty sure it had said November and I KNOW it said girl. So did the Chinese gender chart. Surprise!

tess, i love the name graham, but DH doesn't like it. i also like the name noah, but DH's name is noel and that's just way too close! the names currently occupying space in my mind are asher or ashton. i like asher better, but ashton sounds better with our last name. plenty of time still to decide, and tons of names to consider! we haven't even addressed the issue of a middle name yet!

Names are so difficult and my DH still won't even look at the name book until we know what gender we're having. We plan to pick out a back up name though just in case the US tech is wrong. I'd hate to have the baby be born and the tech was wrong and then scramble to come up with a name.

that's a good plan. my tech says she'll never say 100% either way, but she initially said she was 95% sure it's a boy. then, later in the u/s, she said something to the effect of seeing "boy parts all over!" haha, i had her assure me that she was seeing only ONE boy part, and she assured me she was. but she seemed quite sure of the gender!
