I'm pretty sure I would qualify as a long termer at this point, so I think I'll be hanging out in both buddy groups.

I hope you girls don't mind, but I'm going to join the long termer group since we've been trying for almost a year.

Hi there! Sorry I've been so absent lately. Work's been insane, and I've felt like I'm just barely keeping my head above water the last few weeks.

There's not much to report on the TTC front. I'm 11 dpo (or about that--I didn't temp this month) today, but started spotting yesterday, so CD 1 of Cycle 18 will be tomorrow, if not today. I'm discouraged and frustrated. If it hasn't happened in 17 cycles, it's hard to believe it ever could happen. I'm starting to feel foolish to even hope.Trying to decide if we want to go back to the doctor and get serious about next steps or not. I don't know.

Like I said, work's been super-busy. It's not been bad, overall, just crazy. Lots of late nights and more weekend hours than I'd like (which is to say, more than zero). :) My annual review is tomorrow. I'm hoping it includes a promotion, but trying to convince myself I'd be content with just a raise. I have a ton more responsibility than I had a year ago, and they've been easing me into managing junior employees (the next level for me would be supervisor), so I know a promotion is not far off, either way.

This weekend, I'm starting training to be a volunteer on a suicide hotline. I'm super excited to get started, and hoping it will be a good way to feel more fulfilled than I do in my job (my biggest complaint about work is that I want to do something that "matters"). Then next week, I'm doing a day trip up to San Francisco for work on Wednesday, and flying back that evening to catch a screening of The Avengers w/ J--he worked on it and I'm so excited to see it! So lots of fun, but busy stuff coming up!

Dina, that's great that your insurance will cover at least something! I hope there's a big fat positive OPK coming shortly for you, followed, of course, by the REAL big fat positive!

2. Where are you at in your cycle? happy O day to me!! got a +OPK yesterday and today, so i think today's my day.

3. Are you doing anything different this cycle? i forgot to take the thermometer with us when we went on vacation in february, and it hasn't come back out since. i find i'm much less stressed without worrying about my temperature every morning, dealing with waking times, etc. so i'm still taking the pre-natal vitamins, using OPKs, keeping an eye on CM, but i've gotten much more relaxed about it in the last couple of months. that's good, because i've had enough other stresses in my life that lessening this one has been a good thing.
we still haven't gotten DH in for a sperm analysis just yet. we misplaced the form, and i'm now reminded that i need to call to request another one so we can get that done. we're on a total of 17 cycles and i turn 35 next month, so we need to get a move on!

4. Favorite Easter Traditions from when you were a child or traditions you plan to start when you have children?
no real family traditions for easter, except for going to church in the morning and the big meal in the afternoon. i've learned that easter baskets now come with waaaaay more than jelly beans and plastic eggs. apparently now it's like a big gift-giving holiday. i'd plan to keep it simple and centered around the meaning of easter more than what comes in the basket. but i'm all for a chocolate bunny.

i haven't been on here as much lately. partly due to just being busy. our house has now been on the market for 2.5 weeks and we're already super impatient about selling it. so many good options out there, rates are super low, and we're just ready to move on and move out of this house.

the other reason i haven't been on as much lately is just because i've been trying to hold this TTC stuff more loosely. it's all too easy to let it consume too much of my time, thoughts, and worries, so i've stepped away from it a little bit. i've been less emotional about it, and it's been less stressful as a result. i'm still really hoping that it happens and that it happens soon, but i'm trying to not think about it every moment of every day.

i was sooo proud of myself a few weeks ago. my SIL is getting married in december and we went bridesmaids dress shopping. i actually ordered in my size without hesitating and wondering what if i get pregnant. the wedding is 8 months from now, so i'm hoping that it does actually happen, but it was refreshing to realize that i went ahead and ordered my size without trying to plan around something that might not happen. and if I DO end up pregnant and not able to fit into my size 0 dress? well, there are worse things in the world to have to deal with! plus, i'm only 5'4' so i'll have like a foot of fabric that will be cut off the hem, and they'll be able to stick that around my belly section if i end up needing extra belly and boob room. here's to hoping that i'll be a big round bridesmaid in her wedding! :D
