Oh my goodness gracious where has the time gone? I can't believe we are already through August! Work has picked up SO fast, soccer season is just around the corner, I almost feel overwhelmed right now! Slow down slow down! LOL

Name/ Age? Shana / 28

How long TTC? Not too long, around 9 years...... :smileyhappy:

Where are you in your cycle? AF is just around the corner, but may be delayed thanks to a cortisone shot I got in my knee last week.

Are you doing anything new this cycle? Nothing new

What is your favorite thing you've done so far this summer? I can't remember summer! It's gone by way too fast and DH has been doing school so I haven't seen him much :smileysad: but for our anniversary next month we are going away, not far far away but away from home and I am SO excited!

Shana- How was your trek that you were doing in July? I was hoping you'd pop in and let us know how everything went! Yay for celebrating your anniversary soon!

Rebekah- That's awesome that you and your friends ran that far! I've never been a runner and can't get past 2 miles. I'm glad that you got a chance to enjoy nature.

I'm glad to see some life in the long termer buddy group. You're not the only long termer left! It just seems like we've lost a few friends along the way and I'm curious what happened to some of them. I had hoped if they had good news they would have popped back in to let us all know about it. I miss a lot of the girls who posted when I first came to the group. It's sad to have to wonder what happened to all of them. I hope we can get some more action going around here, it's hard to see the groups so quiet!

Name/ Age? Kristin/ 30

How long TTC? I believe this is cycle 19

Where are you in your cycle? 9 DPO... I tested today and got a BFN, but not giving up hope yet!.

Are you doing anything new this cycle? Yep, on 100 mg clomid, had my progesterone level test and I was at 28.5 on 7dpo, and I am super excited about that! I have never gotten above a 7 before! This is my 2nd cycle on clomid.

What is your favorite thing you've done so far this summer? DH and I took a long weekend to Boston- it's the only vacation I have gotten!

I have been a lurker on this board for forever! I usually just post in the TTC board. But I always stop in here just to check things out. I have noticed that some of the other long-timers that used to post have disapeared though. I hope they got their BFPs! I am ready to start posting in the Expecting in May 2013 board!

Welcome Kristin! We're glad you are joining us in the group! FX'd that it was just too early. 9 DPO is pretty early to get a BFP but I've heard of a few girls getting a positive that soon. Usually it's just too early to detect anything. How are you doing on the Clomid? Did you have any side effects with it? I was on 100mg and never had any problems but my friend had lots of hot flashes when she bumped up to 100mg. Yay for the progesterone being 28.5! I hope that this is your cycle!

I've never taken progesterone before and my Dr. has never mentioned it. What days of your cycle did you take it?

I wonder if they would prescribe it, even though my progesterone level seemed to be high enough. My Dr. seems to be very hesitant to prescribe anything without a good reason... I have had to have ultrasounds after both of my clomid cycles, and the progesterone level tests to see if the clomid is working. big bucks since my insurance doesn't cover it (of course!)

Wow, I never had all that monitoring with my Clomid cycles! It really does add up to big bucks. My insurance covered up to diagnosis which I finally got my diagnosis just before I got my BFP. The progesterone is usually taken after ovulation. I was to take it for up to 14 days, or if AF comes you stop taking it. I took the suppositories and they were messy and annoying but I didn't have any major problems with them. Hope this helps. I'm curious why all the monitoring. The only time I had a progesterone level even drawn was to confirm that I was ovulating, and it was just the one time that I had it drawn.

Wow... I had wondered if what I was doing was the norm, and I hadn't seen much mention of all that monitoring during clomid anywhere else. Maybe I will call the Dr. and ask about the progesterone. I can't stand the thought that the clomid is working but I won't ever get pregnant because I always start spotting too early. it's so frustrating! Thanks for all your input!

I had to ask if I could try the progesterone. I am a firm believer that it's ok to ask your doctor if other options could work for you. It doesn't hurt to ask and they should be honest enough to advise you if they don't recommend that treatment for you. GL and I hope your doctor agrees to try something different for the spotting.

Well I did end up asking my Dr. last week. They declined because my progesterone was high enough on 7DPO with just the clomid. But I asked about the spotting- I feel like my progesterone must really drop quickly. Their response to that was "You seem to have some anxiety with this process. We would like to refer you on to the RE..." That kind of upset me. I don't feel like I'm being unreasonable, I just have some questions! Anyway, I still have a couple rounds of clomid from this Dr that I can take, and after that, DH and I will assess and see if we are ready to hit up the RE. Thanks again for your help.

That's frustrating and I think most OB's will try certain things before referring you to the RE. It may just be that the progesterone is more than they want to get into since the 7DPO b/w is coming back fine. If you do decide to proceed to seeing an RE I would still ask about it. I guess I didn't feel like the Clomid did enough to stop the early spotting and with the progesterone I never had any problems with spotting. GL and I hope you stick around to keep in touch with all of us. We're a little quiet on this board at the moment, but it hopefully will pick up if we can get some great topics going.
