Hi gals!

So DH and I had our first RE appointment yesterday. It was really nice. They were willing to be as proactive as we wanted. They did say they were hesitant to give me Clomid without IUI as it can cause multiples and that would be really dangerous for me (with my 1/2 a uterus thing). They did recommend I have a Hysteroscopy to check the lining of my uterus just in case and they ran all my bloodwork. We decided we will press on naturally and then, if necessary, proceed to IUI in late summer.

Interesting fact, they called today with some of my bloodwork and said that my Measles/Rubella immunity was quite low. They said this can happen if children have severe cases of Chicken Pox which I did. They said that because I have the virus live in my body, it would have been really harmful to a fetus if I'd gotten pregnant before. I will go an get another vaccination but I thought that was a super "everything happens for a reason" type of thing!

Hi ladies! It's Friday afternoon and my boss has already called it a day, so I figured I'd pop in and say hello real quick!

I've been doing ok. Work's been hectic, and I've been a bit moody. But nothing horrible. I'm feeling good about our decision to just keep TTC w/out intervention for now. My doctor agreed that it made sense in our situation. Whether I'll still feel so zen about it when AF shows next is up for debate. :) But for now, I'm just focusing on the billion other things on my mind (including some major career/education decisions that are looming), and making big plans for the rest of the year (including signing up for my first full marathon in October). If I get pregnant, I'll readjust my plans, but if not, I'll have lots of good stuff going on!

Shana - How did your tournament go? I'm curious about Vitex, but always so skeptical about natural remedy stuff with huge claims. If you get your BFP I'll give it a try! ;)

Ellen - how did the appointment with the RE go?

Diane - I hope your vacation is going splendidly, can't wait to hear how wonderful and relaxing it was!

wow, everyone has so much going on! decisions about clomid, uncooperative ovaries, shots, OB changes, and tournaments! my goodness! wishing you all the best of luck with where you're at, no matter where that may be. it's amazing, the journeys we're on!

AFM - i'm sitting at CD1. i've posted elsewhere about how i feel about that, it's just such multifaceted disappointment. on the bright side, we leave tomorrow for our vacation. 9 days in florida - mostly in sanibel island, then a few days in south beach at the end of the trip. i can't even tell you how much we need to escape reality a little bit here. between our jobs and TTC stress, i think we're about to explode. when we get back, DH needs to finally get his SA done. i'm guessing clomid would be the next logical step... i'm scared to death of multiples, but i know it doesn't raise the chances very much. one step at a time, right?

Alright girlies... DH and I have made out appt. next Monday with a RE. Up until now, we've only been meeting with my Gyn. With him, we've gone through HSG, SA, Lap, Us, etc.

OMGosh Tiffany I got butterflies when I thought of you today!!! How are you doing??

Tess - You hanging in there girl? How are your shots? How did your egg retrieval go? FX

Rebekah - Did you get anything figured out? I hate switching OB's but if you need answers and s/he are not giving them to you, look somewhere else. GL

Candy - Haven't heard from you in a bit, hows it going?

Britt- it was good to hear from you earlier :) hows it going?

AFM - Well I'm heading out tomorrow for my tournament in St. George. Going from 30 degree weather to 65 degree weather! WAHOO bring out the swimsuit and flip flops!!! I'm really excited to get away for a weekend but really sad because DH isn't coming with me because of school tests. :( Sad day. But I promised I would bring him home a surprise. Hopefully its a first place trophy :) hehe. I am currently a few day's away from AF coming, the last few day's I've had heavy bbs, but they haven't changed in size or anything. I also had some cramping and thought AF was actually going to show early? I'm not even on day 28 yet, that would be amazing if this tea and pills make my cycle a 28 day!! I would love that! I'm actually really enjoying the tea, I recommend you all to try it (but if you're taking clomid or femara you can't take it with those because of Vitex which is like a natural clomid it's self, the two taken at the same time would actually cancel each other out) but it's yummy and it helps with a lot of different hormone imbalances (if you have them). I'm hoping for a BFP within 3 months..... They say that it takes about that long for your body to adjust to them, but I've heard stories of ladies taking it for as little as 3 weeks and getting pregnant even after they have tried for years and had failed IUI's and IVF cycles! FX for myself :) Well I'm off to get things ready for tomorrow. Have

Tess, I'm sorry only one ovary is cooperating! Quality over quantity sounds like the perfect way to look at it. 'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

Tiffany, have a great time with your family!

Shana, Ellen, Diane, Brittany, Candy and anyone else I'm missing--what's new?

AFM, just waiting to O. J and I talked a lot this past weekend about next steps, and agreed that for now, we're just going to keep trying the old-fashioned way. Then my doctor called just now, and told me my thyroid came back normal this time around. So yay for that! She said that since my levels are all in good shape, and J's results were borderline, it makes sense to hold off for now. She did say that since things are looking good on my end, an IUI without meds would be something else we could consider, so it's good to know that's an option if we need it. But for now, we'll just keep at it and see what happens. Maybe in 6 months, or a year, if I'm still not pregnant, we'll revisit other options.

Thanks Tiff!!! I truly hope this is your cycle!! Definitly keep yourself busy...things go SO much faster!!!

I had some crappy news today on my screening ultrasound. My left ovary has a huge dominant follicle so the doc thinks they won't retrieve any eggs from that side. My right looks better, 5 nice-sized mature follicles and 2 more potentials. The nurse kept telling me quality, not quantity but I am still disappointed. Stupid left ovary!! It is always giving me trouble!! Egg retrieval now scheduled for Wednesday. Wish me luck!!!!

Tess- Vent away girl! I am terrified about having to move on from IUI just because of the daily shots. Focus on the positives honey and you'll get through. I hate that you're hurting so badly :(

Rebekah- As I mentioned on your above post- go with your gut. If your doc isn't giving you an answer that is able to satisfy you, ask again. Please don't let them brush you off. I waisted a lot of time being brushed off by docs. I'm still pissed about it.

AFM- Half way trhough the 2ww. Trying not to go too far in either direction. I am heading out of town Wednesday or Thursday to visit my mom and dad for a couple of days. It is helping a bunch on keeping me busy!

Thanks for asking, Tess! Yes, the cyst went away on its own--hooray for that! We re-tested my thyroid levels, so I should have results back early next week.

My OB ended up writing me a prescription for Clomid while I was there, to be taken pending DH's repeat SA. The idea being if the next SA comes back good, then we try the Clomid. I think I'll just write a separate post about all my thoughts on that above, so as not to totally hijack this thread. But we're considering our options and trying to decide what we're ready for.

Three shots a day sounds miserable! I hope you'll get your BFP this cycle and it will all be worth it!

How's everyone else doing?
