Hi everyone....Im new to this. My name is Kristen and Im tryn to conceive my first little one. My husband have been tryn for a while now and still nothing. So I tried taking the ferility ad but messed my cycle all up so I stopped taking them. My cycles are not normal so I have a hard time trying to keep up with when I OV. Its hard on me sometimes when we try and then i wait and see if my period gonna come or not. When it does come I go into babymode looking up with eles I can try that will help us concevie. My husband doesnt want to try IVF or anything like that till we are sure we cant do it on naturlly. So this month I went online and order preseed, 100 O test, and got cough med to help thin out my lineing. I'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for reading....KC

Welcome KC.

Are you seeing an OB/GYN or an RE? It's best to start there before trying online remedies :) but Preseed is a great purchase (just remember that a little goes a LONG way you don't need to use too much at a time) we love our preseed, because I used Clomid and it dries up my CM so that helps me a lot!

Do you get any signs of O? Like cramping or raised temperatures? When you said your cycles were not normal, what range are you talking about? Too long, too short? Keep in mind anything between 26-38 or even 40 is still considered a "normal" cycle length. It's anything that falls below the 26 range or above the 40's range that isn't normal. Ask your OB any questions you might have. Even if you haven't been trying for a year, you can always schedule a consultation to talk about what steps you want to take and get advice! It's testing they won't do before a year (unless you in your mid 30's to 40 years old,. Then it's 6 months of activity trying with no success)

GL to you! I hope your stay is short and sweet and you get your BFP soon!

Hey.....Thanks for the info. I have been to OBGYN because of my cycles dont being on time each month. I'm any where from 30 to 35 day cycle. My issues is that I can go a month and not have a cycle then have one the next month. They wanted me to do birth control but I couldn't take it. Now I have a cycle each month but sometimes its just light spotting for couple days and thats it. Like last month I had my cycle on 23rd Nov. then had this cycle in the 13th of Oct with only light spotting. I just get so so upset with it sometimes. Thanks KC

No worries hun, I have a pretty consistent 31 day cycle each time. 35 isn't too bad :) I would have been really concerned if it was under the 26 range. Your OB can give you medication to help you O sooner, or better. Clomid is good, or Femara. You can't take birth control why? They do have a good reason for doing birth control. My cousin was trying for their second and she wasn't getting pregnant and she was having longer cycles too. They put her on birth control for three months and the month she went off she got pregnant. Your body, and mind, just may need to relax a little and that can help :) Keep going to your OB and asking questions. GL

I started birth control when I was 17 and I found out I was allergic to it caused blood clots in my legs. I need it to even my cycle out but I couldn't take it. That's why I started the fertility ad to help with hormones but that didnt work either. Im going to just try the preseed and track my O to see then hopful I'll get my BFP. Thanks KC

KC, Hi and welcome. In my humble, expierienced (22 months ttc) opinion, I would definately make an appointment with your OB if you're concerns. From your post I got the feeling that you have the impression that IVF is the only option available to you. You didn't mention how long you've been trying, nor how old you and DH are, so I'm making recommendations from my expierience. There are a lot of things that can contribute to difficulty in getting pregnant. A lot of those things can be treated without IVF. Even at the 22 month point, our wonderful docs are not anywhere near recommending IVF. I would say that a doc's appointment for a frank talk and some blood tests is a way better idea that flinging money into "miracle cures" from the internet.

Are you using anything to monitor your cycles? I would recommend picking up a book calld Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. You can get used copies pretty easily, and cheaply. It is a great book and can give you BOATLOADS of information. You can track your body's cycles and gain tons of knowledge that can help you figure out your cycle and help your doc in diagnosing you. OPKS and temping are two of the most popular methods. You can also learn about cervical mucous and how you can learn about your cycle from that as well.

Hey.... I do have an OBGYN and I have done some test and everything seems to be okay. I just have a hard time figureing out when I O. I have used the OPK before and never got a hint as to when I was O. I think I was using them wrong tho. So thats why I order the ones online so on my next cycle I can use them and find my peak.DH doesnt want to invest in the fertilty montiers just yet...he thinks everything will happen when its meant to be.

We have been trying almost two years in March. Thats why I thinks something is up Im 22 and his 24 so I didnt think it would be that hard for us and it has been hard. Thanks.KC
