i can't believe i'm really here!!
Expecting #1 (a boy!) on January 16, 2013
First off, WELCOME! I'm so very excited that you've stopped in to share on your journey to motherhood. I know what it's like to have people with multiple babies around me (I am a military wife afterall), and while I'm stillin my late 20's, I feel "behind." The ladies here get it, and are extremely supportive. I hope you find everyone welcoming, and please take advantage of everyone's varied experiences and ask any questions you may have. There is A LOT of information out there so it can be overwhelming, so take it one day at a time. I'm Kim, 27, and we've been ttc since January 2009 (you can see some of our ttc history in my siggy.)
How were your cycles pre-BCP? For most women, it can take up to 6 months for your cycle to return to how they were before you started taking the pill. If you're ready to really dive into ttc, I recommend charting your BBT so you know how long your cycles are and when you O. You can also use OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) to find out when O is coming so you can time BD accordingly. Check out www.fertilityfriend.com for a great charting course and free software to keep track of your cycles. (If you click on my cycle ticker below it will take you to my "homepage" with all of my charts.) I have learned/confirmed so much through charting and I highly recommend it. It might be a bit much right away, but it's super easy and has become second nature to me.
If you're into reading, I recomend Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It is extremely informative, has photos (some graphic) and is really like the ttc bible.
Check out the Newbie Guide to TTCYFC thread on here to acquaint yourself with the board and some of our lingo. Feel free to ask anything, and remember that nothing here is TMI. We are all at different stages of our journeys to motherhood but all share in your desire to have a child. I hope you enjoy your time here and that your stay is short and sweet!
i was totally the same way.

I'm 31 and will be going off the pill this month. I have a lot of friends and family with little ones (and some with "not so little ones"), but wasn't ever certain that I wanted kids. DH wasn't sure either, a few years ago we discussed it and decided on someday, but didn't make any real effort. Now, DH is ready, and I better be on board or else. I'm definitely a ball of nerves about this ... I'm excited about the prospect, but I just keep wondering how everyone makes this work, anyway.
