Does anyone do a special trick after BDing? Maybe some new ideas will help!

I try to stay flat on my back for a couple minutes.

Prop your hips up for 20-30 min after works. Not too high, just try and let gravity help out :) hth

OVERSHARE/TMI ALERT!

Apparently having an orgasm AFTER your partner comes helps pull it all into your uterus. So, if he can just keep enough stamina to go a liiiiiiittle bit further to push you over the edge, that supposedly should help!

We also wait a little while and cuddle before he pulls out.....supposedly the longer he's in the better? Keeps the little guys in as long as possible? And I agree that laying on your back for a little while, esp with your hips up a tad, is supposed to help.

Who knows, these are just old-wives-tales I've heard, though they did get us pregnant once...

Ditto to Ashlee and Mary (and all the TMI that goes with it!)

If you're in a hurry and can't lay down afterwards, you can try Instead Cups which are soft "cups" that you put into your vagina and hugs against your cervix. The theory here is that any rogue swimmers will be caught in the cup and positioned closer to the cervical opening. They are marketed as an alternative to pads or tampons for during AF, but some women swear by their effectiveness in getting you pg. You can also try waiting for your orgasm until after the cup is in. If nothing else, I like that the cups keep me clean and I don't have to worry about leakage.

HTH!

Huh, I'd never even thought of Instead cups for that! It does make sense... I suppose my diaphragm could do the same thing, now that I think about it!

I started using the Instead Cup in the spring after BDing, and although it obviously hasn't helped get me pg, I agree Kim, the stopped leakage is awesome! I cannot stand that leakage and mentally, I feel like all the spermies are going the wrong direction so I get depressed and stressed that even after staying on my back for awhile, I've just lost all the swimmers. So it helps with the mental stress and the physical yucky-ness of leakage. Yay for Instead Cups!
