I've always used the First Response early result tests. They are always very accurate each month giving me my BFN's...haha.

Not all HPTs are created equally, although I think you'll find that most are accurate. Dollar store tests are just as good as more expensive brand name ones, and I think more women on here have had luck with earlier BFPs on the cheap tests. Another great place to look is online for what we like to call internet cheapies, or ICs. They are strip tests that you dip in a cup of urine. I like www.early-pregnancy-tests.com, although there are definitely a number of other good ones.

This is a great site with good informtion on the sensitivity and accuracy of a bunch of different hpts: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hpt.html.

I really like digital tests and have actually converted to using them only. They are more expensive but I'm not a big poas-er and only test if I really think I'm pg. There's no room for error in reading "Not Pregnant" or "Pregnant".

I just wanted drop in with my 2 cents, FWIW. I'm sure by now you already have an answer for this cycle, but for the next, or anybody else, here is my experiance. I used dollar store hpt's every other day starting at 10dpo, on 10,12,14 and 16dpo using first morning urine= all BFN. Later on 16dpo

I have First Response Early, but then I happened upon some half off EPI Digital ones which I picked up (1/2 off b/c they expire in Feb 2011 but that's enough time for them to be used by me!).

Hmmm... actually I'm still not sure what's going on! My cycle is usually 28-30 days. In the last year I have had 2 cycles That were 32 days but That's it. Now I am on day 35 of my cycle and no AF, but 3 different dollar store pregnancy tests gave BFN! This was my first month ttc and I didn't use ovulation tests, but my fiancée (as of this weekend!!!!) Has been overly excited and we probably only missed one day during the whole month! So what does everyone think??? Is it possible I am pregnant and the tests aren't working for me?? I Have felt slightly crampy and at times thought AF was about to make an appearance. But nothing yet!

First, congratulations on your engagement! How exciting!!! How did he propose?

Can you get different tests, perhaps a digital? When all else fails, call your dr for a blood test. Also keep in mind that it's normal to have the occasional wonky cycle. If that's the case, wouldn't it figure that it's when you're ttc! I hope you get an answer soon.

That sounds like such a nice proposal! I always love hearing how other people get engaged, from the elaborate to the intimate. Were you expecting it?

I'm sorry about the repeated BFN. KMP on your appointment tomorrow!
