I don't get it... help!!!

So I've been doing the OPK's and although it's annoying, I can actually have back up when I go see the dr on Monday. But something has been bugging me about them.

I try to test about the same time every day... sometimes I have to go pee a lot, sometimes not so much.

Either way, there is no consistency... for example: one day, it shows the test line starting to show up. The next day, it's gone, only the control line...

And it does this back and forth for the last 17 or so days.

So this afternoon I tested again and BAM!!!! I got a pretty dark test line, and it was about the same color as the control. Now I am excited because I feel like "okay, here it is; this is what I've been waiting for". Even though I know that most likely the egg isn't good when it's this late in a cycle (about CD25). So I tell my husband and of course he's like "see there's nothing to worry about".

But of course, there is. I tested again, about 6 hours later and the test line is gone! GONE! GONE! WTH??

There was no test line yesterday. A major one this early afternoon. And none late afternoon....

I don't get it... I really don't and it's annoying and I am about to SCREEEEEAMMMMMM!!!

I think what happened is your LH surge started sometime last night and you caught the very tail-end of it w/ the one +OPK in the afternoon. I've read that LH can be present in your urine even after your surge has stopped (just as it takes a while for the surge to show up in your urine when it starts).

I say pounce your DH and get to BDin'!! O might be right around the corner for you~! Best of luck and HTH :)

I guess that sounds logical. Could LH surge be only a few hours? Like not show up the day before, then show up early afternoon and then gone late afternoon?

Well, the night before LH surge test we BD'd... because frankly, he's working out of town so we don't get that much time together as of late. So I didn't want to BD last night, because it hadn't been 24 hours and I would prefer him to have all his men produced to give more chances.

Thanks Mariam!

I agree with Mariam. Your LH surge could have been short, but the good thing is that you got the surge!

Also keep in mind that the amount of fluid you drink throughout the day can mess with the results of the OPK. The more diluted your urine, the less accurate the test will be.

That's the way it always happens for me! My surge is really short and I have to test at least 3X/day in order to catch it so it's possible that you just ha a really short surge. AND it's important to remember that a lot of women don't "fade in" they're OPK's are all over the place until until BAM positive! I've had to completely disregard the color of the line until I get a positive because they're all over the place. Anyways hope that helped!
